It works on Target’s platforms, like Target.com and our mobile app, as well as going beyond to connect our partners with guests across more than 150 premium publishers and channels (think: Pinterest, PopSugar and NBC Universal). We work with some of the largest brands and advertising agencies in the world to create a unique experience for our guests’ digital journey.

Position Overview:
As a Sr. Media Analyst, you will be a subject matter expert in retail media search ads performance, leading category level performance and operations strategy for Target’s self-serve retail media search advertising platform. Your primary focus will be advising brand partners and internal teams to drive campaign success through performance insights, pacing management, and optimization strategies. In this role, you will act as a strategic and operational advisor, helping brands realize greater return on ad spend (ROAS), incremental sales, and platform efficiency through your guidance. You will maintain a deep understanding of campaign management and optimization strategies along with providing detailed account analysis and campaign updates on an ongoing basis to ensure that we are delivering performance for advertiser’s goals. Performing evaluation of inventory sources, data, analytics solutions and technology platforms options in marketplace and develop roadmaps to help clients establish and achieve their performance media objective would be integral to the role. You will also lead consultative engagements by collaborating with internal stakeholders, our advertisers and their marketing agencies to contribute to the strategic insights. You'll also contribute to category-level operational health, identify opportunities for process improvements, and guide newer analysts across practices and tools. Being a thought leader by staying ahead of industry trends and sharing knowledge and best practices with the wider teams would be beneficial to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for retail media search advertising within the assigned category, providing proactive insights and strategic recommendations to brand and sales teams.

  • Manage complex transactions and escalations effectively, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.

  • Leverage data and analytics to inform daily business decisions and drive measurable results.

  • Lead medium to large-scale projects or play a key role in advancing broader strategic initiatives

  • Develop and deliver actionable account-level plans and collaborate with account managers to ensure successful execution.

  • Analyze self-serve campaign performance, pacing, bid strategy, and keyword efficiency to identify optimization opportunities and potential investment gaps.

  • Drive incremental sales growth and improve Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) by identifying performance trends and providing strategic recommendations for budget optimization.

  • Oversee category-level operational health, including spend management, goal achievement, campaign optimization, revenue tracking, and platform issue resolution.

  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and strong prioritization skills, effectively managing multiple client campaigns and tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for optimization-related queries, ensuring timely resolution of process clarifications, campaign performance concerns, and delivery challenges.

  • Design and scale initiatives that remove barriers to advertiser success and foster sustainable brand growth.

  • Present business reviews and analytical readouts to internal stakeholders, marketing partners, and category leads.

  • Support team development through onboarding, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to strengthen overall capability and performance.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related technical field.

  • 8–10 years of experience in digital marketing or media operations, with 5–7 years of hands-on or consultative experience in search advertising (e.g. Google Ads, Amazon Ads, Criteo, Walmart Connect, Citrus Ad, Pacvue, Skai, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of search advertising mechanics including auction dynamics, keyword strategies, conversion KPIs, and budget pacing.

  • Committed to elevating the team through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and operational rigor.

  • Previous experience managing large media accounts at a paid media agency. Passionate about media, data, analytics and technology.
