Our Opportunity 

The Sr. Manager, Regional Training Lead is responsible for leading a team of Regional Training Leads (RTLs) who deliver training to Tim Hortons Restaurant Teams and Owners. This role ensures consistent execution of training strategies, drives continuous improvement in operational performance, and aligns field training initiatives with brand priorities. 

The Sr. Manager, Regional Training Lead serves as the strategic connector between field training and the broader Restaurant Operations, HR, and Brand Excellence teams. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 5 Regional Training Leads across Ontario, providing direction, performance feedback, and professional development. 

  • Set clear performance objectives, KPIs, and expectations for the training team. 

  • Facilitate collaboration across regions to ensure consistent application of training programs and best practices. 

  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, field visits, and team meetings to maintain alignment and engagement. 

Training Strategy & Program Management 

  • Partner with Operations and HR to assess training needs and develop short- and long-term training strategies to address operational priorities (profitability, Guest satisfaction, and team capability). 

  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable training content, ensuring it reflects operational excellence and brand standards. 

  • Monitor and refine the effectiveness of training programs through KPI analysis (SOS, SMG, REV, profitability, completion rates, satisfaction scores). 

  • Lead pilots and rollout of new operational training programs and ensure alignment with enterprise initiatives. 

Operational Excellence & Data-Driven Insights 

  • Analyze business data (Guest feedback, profitability, labor, F&P, training participation) to identify opportunities for improvement and align training interventions accordingly. 

  • Support cross-functional projects focused on improving restaurant performance, operational efficiency, and leadership capability. 

  • Use dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, SOS, OnBrand 360) to track regional training performance and communicate results to senior leadership. 

  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management 

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Regional Directors, Franchise Owners, and corporate Operations teams to ensure training supports strategic goals. 

  • Act as the primary liaison between the training function and field operations, ensuring training priorities align with business needs. 

  • Represent the training function in enterprise-level meetings, contributing to strategic discussions about people capability and performance. 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Restaurant Operations, Field Training, or a related function. 

  • Experience managing a geographically distributed team. 

  • Strong knowledge of Tim Hortons operational systems and practices preferred (inventory management, P&L, Guest experience, team training, etc.). 

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with training analytics platforms (Tableau, SOS, SMG, OnBrand 360). 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
