Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and experienced brand marketer to support the Director, Brand marketing in developing a brand vision and strategy to enhance brand equity, visibility, and market positioning. This role requires a combination of creative vision, business acumen, and leadership skills to drive impactful marketing campaigns for Japan that attract new customers, engage existing customers, and drive revenue growth.
This role serves as a key pillar with Brand Marketing, contributing to brand building and new customer acquisition The key responsibility is shaping the Japan strategy under the guideline of the Director, Brand marketing, by combining a deep understanding of the global brand with local market dynamics and consumer insights. The Brand Manager will lead the development of strategies tailored for Japan, ensuring they are relevant, competitive, and growth-driven.
In addition, this role will collaborate closely with the global brand team as well as cross-functional partners in Japan (e.g., PR, Retail Marketing, eCOM, Sales) to translate the strategy into cohesive execution across all consumer touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy Deployment and Implementation: Support the Director, Brand marketing of Coach Japan Marketing in developing a brand vision and strategy for Japan that aligns with global brand priorities and is tailored to Japan's consumer and market landscape.
- Brand Guidance and Seamless Implementation: Understand the global guidance and reflect it on local execution across all touchpoints ensuring attractiveness, relevancy for Japan. By providing guidance and monitoring execution, it enables all functions to deliver the plans with consistency under the strategy.
- Communication and Assets Strategy : Develop local communication strategy and relevant claim using STDC frame per campaign under the global concept. Identify the right assets based on audience insights and guidance cross functions to deliver the plan with alignment.
- eCOM Guideline Communication and Assets : Develop the brief for eCOM contents to reinforce branding and conversion understanding consumer journey. Guide eCOM team to implement the contents on strategy providing the right assets.
- Creative Strategy and Implementation : Lead to deliver the right assets under the communication strategy. Engage the global team to reflect local insights and develop local assets with alignment.
- Campaign Planning: Support the Director, Brand marketing to develop Japan marketing calendar planning within the See-Think-Do-Care framework. Identify growth opportunities and initiate action plans.
- Global & Regional Marketing Liaison: Closely work with global marketing and communicate Japan's strategy and needs to global teams under guidance from the Director, Brand marketing.
- Campaign Orchestration: Brief other marketing functions to develop orchestration plans based on campaign KPIs, consolidate the plans, and discuss with functions to revise the plan to achieve campaign targets under guidance from the Director, Brand marketing and support cross functional team to ensure high-quality execution across all initiatives.
- Campaign Performance Tracking: Closely monitor campaign performance with Marketing Analytics. Media team and propose in-campaign optimizations especially from branding & communication perspective.
- Budget management : Support the Director, Brand marketing to plan and control budget.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in branding, marketing in local position, Japan market.
- Proven experience in local branding in Gaishi companies as brand manager.
- Experience of developing local communication, creating assets for digital & social media.
- FMCG background preferred.
- Knowledge of basic media planning, retail marketing, and PR & Social.
- Strategic and consumer-centric mindset.
- Fact based decision making owning purpose, but flexible
- Solid leadership skills: strong ownership & action oriented
- People management experience, min.2yrs
- Team player who fosters partnerships within and outside the marketing department.
- Fluent in written and spoken in Japanese and English
