Sr IT Manager II are responsible for the achievement of business objectives by providing leadership, strategic consultancy and management of the Information Technology function with which the job is aligned. A Sr IT Manager II collaborates with company customers, staff members, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to define customer requirements, assess available technologies, and develop and present viable solution options. Sr IT Manager IIs possess knowledge of various business processes used by systems applications and can recommend strategies and tactics to satisfy customer needs. They participate in the business support planning process. This may include evaluating application software packages and making recommendations for IT solutions. A major responsibility of the Sr IT Manager II is to ensure results meet negotiated customer expectations and adhere to internal standards and strategies. They are responsible for on-time product delivery, which requires a clear understanding of the expectations and capabilities of their team.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable to the achievement of business unit objectives by managing effectively and efficiently the implementation and support of information systems solutions. They are ultimately responsible for the successful implementation of project plans.
In this capacity, they must maintain awareness of current IT projects within PPG and planned projects across ERPs to promote application sharing.
Perform feasibility studies, translate requirements into appropriate designs, formulate and define application scope and objectives, prepare high-level proposals or detailed specifications from which applications will be developed, and implement complete solutions.
Prioritize resources and tasks and are responsible for developing contingencies, adjusting scope, monitoring the status of project efforts and are held accountable for controlling project plans and costs and providing management feedback.
Responsible for the organizational structure, as well as the hiring in the IT ERP organization.
Directly supervise and coach their team members and are actively responsible for conducting the P&LP process for their direct reports.
They must be able to delegate responsibility to others, and to set the priorities for the group’s work.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training.
Greater than 12 years of IT experience in business application design and systems development, including implementation and installation of systems.
Experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business or function, through organizational changes and/or redesigned business processes.
Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to business and function stakeholders.
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
Experienced in project management and execution of large enterprise projects.
Experience in managing financial resources to achieve goals and delivering multiple projects.
