The Role

A Day in the LifeA growth marketer develops best-in-class strategies and execution throughout the marketing funnel in collaboration with Medtronic operating units (OU). Acting as the primary point of contact with OU Marketing, the Growth Marketer will work within the centralized Multichannel Marketing, Training and Events (MMT&E) team to create world-beating campaigns and drive key performance metrics. The metrics they will focus on include but are not limited to: click-through rate, monthly active users, lead generation, and revenue.

They will manage and support activities across all stages of the customer experience/funnel: customer acquisition, activation, retention, and up-selling. Experience in improving online customer experiences, implementing marketing technology solutions, and following inbound marketing practices, as well as a customer-first mindset, are essential for this role.

The growth marketer is expected to identify, plan, initiate and execute marketing campaigns that are scalable, increase revenue, and use resources efficiently. This includes dealing with a queue of inbound campaign/content requests. To achieve this, the growth marketer must possess assertiveness, tenacity, and marketing expertise to drive an OU towards success within a category-leading international organization.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with OU marketing partners to develop and execute the growth marketing plan to support key business objectives.  

  • Work with partners to develop a unified approach to the business's overall marketing efforts, coordinating across SEO, digital marketing, social media, design, email marketing, and other marketing team initiatives. 

  • Ensure social media channels and websites are continuously updated and optimized to provide a great user experience for the targeted personas. 

  • Work with creative resources to design and craft compelling stories for campaigns. 

  • Work on new A/B tests and strategies to optimize spend and performance of digital marketing. Monitor and optimize campaigns across all marketing channels to drive increased ROI. 

  • Utilize performance reports from the insights team to brief OU leadership and the OU marketing team on initiatives and provide recommendations for improvements. 

  • Engage with technology, creative and paid media vendor partners to optimize external costs, ensuring expectations on brand compliance, deadlines, performance, and budget are met. 

  • Manage an editorial calendar and facilitate business units campaign governance to ensure smooth campaign orchestration. 

  • Oversee and uphold project management tool quality for scalable multichannel campaigns, while ensuring efficient asset management across the content supply chain lifecycle including creation/reuse, approval, and publishing, with a global perspective. 

  • Continuously tracks local content and advertisement requirements and regulations by working closely with functional stakeholders; Regulatory, Legal etc. to ensure content and Advertising and Promo. process compliance 

SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education.

Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, and may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas or specialties . Makes improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of the job area. Analysis provided is in-depth in nature and often provides recommendations on process improvements.

Communication and Influence: Communicates with senior internal and external customers and vendors. Exchange information of facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective, and influence decision-making.

Leadership and Talent Management: May provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects, requiring delegation of work and review of others' work product .

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
