Sr Director of Finance

Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Senior Director of Finance to join our exceptional team, help us continue our rapid growth, and create a better way forward for our customers. In this position, you will oversee the Corporate FP&A and Strategic Finance team, and report to the CFO. 

The Finance team works closely with business leaders across Fundbox to shape strategy to ensure we reach our financial goals. The ideal candidate will have prior experience at a fintech company, with a strong understanding of lending economics, good analytical skills, and track record of working cross-functionally to drive forward recommendations.

In this role, you will

• Own the financial model including forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning
• Be a strategic partner to business leaders in Credit and Partnerships team to evaluate new partnerships, products or initiatives 
• Support capital markets on funding strategy
• Be responsible for quarterly management, Board and Investor reporting, ensuring a high degree of quality, timeliness, and accuracy, as well as highlighting key business insights
• Analyze sophisticated and open-ended questions at the intersection of profitability and risk
• Apply critical thinking & communications skills to make actionable recommendations; and drive those recommendations through to execution
• Develop the finance team to continuously standardize and improve reporting frameworks, models, and processes

You should have

• Experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in Finance & Strategy or Financial Operations within tech, fintech, banking, and/or other relevant industries
  • Deep subject matter expertise in structured finance
  • Experience working closely with capital markets to develop funding strategies
  • Expert modeling skills, with experience building complex operating models
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate messages that link business issues, financial results, and strategy at the executive level
  • Best-in-class attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy
  • Extensive experience partnering with senior leadership both in Finance and cross-functionally
• Technical skills.
  • Excel pro with the superpower to develop insightful financial models and quantitative analysis, paired with strong critical thinking and sound business judgment.
  • Experience using Python, SQL and Tableau
  • Comfortable working with large data sets
• Discipline & Attitude.
  • Outgoing & thoughtful partner to leaders throughout the organization
  • Sharp attention to detail with a natural feel for numbers and data, and have a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Impressive time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks with multiple stakeholders while hitting deadlines on time-sensitive projects.
  • Team player, intellectually curious, goal-oriented

Compensation & Benefits

We anticipate the California base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000 - $285,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the amount the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors (i.e. job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training). The compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include any bonuses, equity, or benefits.
