MetroStar is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking GCP Cloud Engineer to join our Federal IT team in Washington, DC. In this hands-on role, you’ll help architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and mission-critical cloud solutions in support of a high-impact federal customer.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
  • Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
  • Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity experts, and government partners to streamline deployment workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance to ensure uptime, reliability, and SLA compliance.
  • Implement federal cloud compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST) and enforce best practices for security and governance.
  • Contribute to documentation, automation scripts, and internal knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Active Secret clearance (TS preferred).
  • 4+ years of cloud engineering experience, including at least 2 years working in GCP environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery.
  • Experience building infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
  • Solid understanding of Linux administration, networking, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development environments.

SALARY RANGE: $119,000 - $161,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: 

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
