The Senior Buyer, Indirect Procurement - IT is responsible for leading the sourcing of approx. $100 million in collective technology Indirect spend for the McCain Foods company. This person leads the sourcing strategy development, tactics and key activities for a portion of the IT category (i.e. Hardware, S4/HANA, Software/SaaS, Telecom/Networking, Consulting Services etc.). This position is responsible for conducting sourcing events, negotiating commercial contractual terms, leading supplier relationship development, including monitoring performance and driving value. The Senior Buyer will recommend and advise on best options for the business.
The Senior Buyer will bring experience, knowledge and leadership in the IT Procurement space and have working knowledge of Coupa Source to Pay system, and influence business needs and commercial results through Procurement best practices. He/she/They will lead the overall supplier relationship strategy for their spend area, ensuring proper commercial treatment of suppliers by reinforcing policy, ethics and our strategic approach with suppliers and with other company departments. This role will need to understand Procurement Policy, Systems and Processes to ensure proper procurement methodologies are followed. Engage and collaborate cross region with peers and other team members of the Indirect category to deliver best practices and accelerated results. This position reports to the Senior Director, Global IT Procurement in the Indirect team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Drive cost-focused strategy for Indirect spend area in assigned IT sub-categories.
- Conduct and Execute Sourcing event plans and strategies to deliver ongoing cost savings targets.
- Manage recurring renewal spend on contracts and mitigate increases based on scope.
- Delivery of Sustainable Cost Advantage (SCA) Program through sound analysis and negotiations.
- Build supplier relationship program for the relative sub-categories and markets to deliver significant value for McCain Foods.
- Build strong client relationships with the McCain IT, Finance, Compliance and Legal team.
- Ensures proper stewardship for Procurement Transactions in the Indirect Category.
- Ensure Coupa is adopted, updated and maintained for the Global Procurement Team.
- Build and execute strategies for his/her/They assigned categories.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, finance or IT). Master's Degree/Procurement accreditation would be an asset.
- Minimum 3 years' procurement experience, preferably in IT Procurement spend areas. Willing to consider under 3 years' experience, with relevant Indirect procurement experience
- Fosters strong internal-external partnership/alignment

- Working knowledge of Coupa (or similar sourcing tool) for Source to Pay modules
- Working Knowledge of SAP and Indirect Procurement Systems
- Sound knowledge of reviewing Master Agreements and reviewing/negotiating Statement of Works
- Sound knowledge of MS Office suite (excellent MS Excel knowledge of data analysis is an asset)

This role is expected to be performed in a hybrid working model. The person may be asked to be in office location 2-3 times a week depending on need and requirements while working remaining time from a home office location in Chicago or Toronto CA preferred.
