Reporting to the Vice President Ceded Reinsurance, the Ceded Reinsurance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the operational activities of the reinsurance department. This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of ceded reinsurance contracts, maintaining accurate data, supporting reinsurer audits, and supporting internal and external reporting requirements.
The Sr Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of reinsurance transactions and contribute to process improvements and compliance efforts.

Specific responsibilities include:
Assist in the administration of ceded reinsurance contracts for treaty placements and captives
Maintain accurate and timely data entry in reinsurance systems and databases.
Maintain documentation of reinsurance processes and procedures.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Identify and recommend improvements to reinsurance processes and controls.
Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new tools or workflows.
Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Claims, Finance, Underwriting) to ensure accurate and complete reinsurance data.
Support special projects and initiatives within the reinsurance department.
Maintain the reinsurer audit calendar and coordinate logistics for both onsite and remote audits.
Organize secure remote access for reinsurers and auditors, ensuring compliance with internal IT and data privacy protocols.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in reinsurance, insurance operations, product or underwriting support
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Location:
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
