About the Role
The role of the Global Senior Specialist, Operational Procurement, is to manage the day-to-day supplier performance and delivery coverage at the category level, assuring a robust and resilient HARMAN supply chain, capable of meeting the dynamic demands of an Automotive electronics manufacturing industry.
Your Team
What You Will Do
- A supplier facing role that will proactively drive material commitment gap closures with suppliers (in the 0–104-week supply time frame) and provide the outlook for review meetings, using analysis of global supply coverage from IBP.
- Will be responsible for the short-term coverage management based on allocations provided from Supply Planning team.
- Initiates negotiations for additional volumes or production swaps with the supplier for short- and long-term gap closure, monitoring and reporting the supply status to key internal stakeholders
- Responsible for supplier relationships with significant impact to HARMANs ability to deliver customer product
- Will conduct material End of Life (EOL) & New Product Introductions (NPI) status discussions with the larger, more impactful and challenging suppliers, and assure coverage or resolve excess inventory risks, informing program management of recommendations
- Owns the "Delivery KPI" in the Supplier Score card, its content, calculation, and the related supplier performance actions to improve performance shortfalls.
- Provides delivery performance input/approval for Source Board supplier award consideration.
- Negotiate Frozen Horizon Agreement with suppliers: kick off discussions, track down the status, discuss details with legal department, get final approval from leadership (Procurement Tribunal), and publish the final agreement with the cross-functional team (Operational Procurement) for implementation.
- Negotiate Consignment Implementation with suppliers, track down the status, discuss details with legal, get final approval from leadership (Procurement Tribunal), and publish the final agreement with Supply Chain Management for implementation.
- Conduct Supply Chain and Logistics Evaluation with selected suppliers: plan, organize and align with the cross functional team including Category Manager and SQE teams to execute the evaluation and the follow up of the corrective action.
- Actively participate and prepare information and documentation for the supplier QBR discussions in regards of the supply chain topics.
- MPA review and provide feedback in connection with Supply Chain relevant agreements.
- Lead task force for supply chain disruptions as needed.
- Lead or participate in process improvement projects.
- Support ramp down, ramp up during an engineering change and/or supply change.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience, preferably in Business
- Management, Supply Chain Management.
- 6+ years of materials and/or supply chain management experience
- Significant achievements in a global supply chain and/ or procurement role
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment including Sales,
Engineering, Quality, Program Management and Operations. Can lead a cross-functional team as
required to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to solve dynamic issues with high complexity.
- Experience in handling multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation in English.
- Negotiation and incident management skills. Works well under pressure and strives for mutually
beneficial solutions.
- Having a proactive, goal-oriented approach to decision making.
- High proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Excellent team player – can effectively work with all levels of a global matrixed organization.
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations.
- Effective Clear communicator comfortable in multiple contexts including suppliers, customers,
working meetings and Executive briefings.
