Technical Manager is accountable for safety, quality and performance of all equipment and technical systems on site: In short term as well as In long term perspective. Meanwhile Technical Manager Is accountable for capital projects execution on site. Technical Manager contribute Into long term site development by leading site master planning process. The Technical Manager leads a team of 8-11 direct reports which may include Maintenance & Utilities Techs, MRO/OVS Associates, Maintenance Planners, Controls, and Site Project Engineers. This position is a key senior member of the Site Leadership Team.
In addition, this role is expected to demonstrate total site technical leadership. Leading and coaching within the technical team and across value streams within the factory. Ensuring that consistent factory and regional technical strategies and capability building are active within the site. Demonstrating and representing the MARS 5 Principles on a daily basis.
What are we looking for?
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline AND/OR 7+ years of related Management experience in a manufacturing/ technical environment considered.
- 5+ years in Technical Management and/or Maintenance positions
- Solid successful track record of high-speed packaging, high-volume processing equipment management, electrical & controls.
- TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) experience
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/ initiatives within budget limits.
- Travel as required (up to 10%)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering
- Knowledge and experience with advanced maintenance management practices
- Technical Management and/or maintenance experience positions in a food- manufacturing or Consumer Package Goods (CPG) environment.
- TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) type experience with emphasis on PM (Progress Maintenance) and EM (Early Management) pillar leadership
- Effectively manage multiple projects (+$1M)
What will your key responsibilities be?
- Manage direct reports to ensure maintenance best practices are being followed and developed. Ensure that each report has results-based objectives, timely performance reviews, and appropriate career development counselling.
- Technically support maintenance, utilities, controls, & building/grounds team leaders and technicians in performing necessary tasks.
- Actively participate and collaborate with all functional areas to provide continuous improvement activities for Safety/Health/Environment (HSE), Quality and Food Safety (Q&FS) Schedule Attainment (SA), TRS, Process Reliability (PR), Productivity, and Non-Quality Cost (NQC) in addition to compliance legal & Mars standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive reliability improvement program, which will ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable method with an emphasis on proactive and predictive maintenance processes and practices.
- Responsible for the utilities (energy, water, air, steam, wastewater) and control systems Ensure systems and associates support regulatory compliance through effective maintenance practices.
- Manage Maintenance costs to ensure the budgeting process is accurate and the department meets the business requirements.
- Leads site masterplan and asset health check programs
- Active and contributing member of the site leadership team. Supports the site strategy, deploys resources appropriately and collaborates with other members of the leadership team while delivering the strategy.
- Active and contributing member of the MWNA Maintenance Community of Practice (CoP) by sharing expertise / information, developing regional standards and implementing agreed MWNA standards.
