Our challenge
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior VisionPLUS Developer with deep expertise in the CMS (Card Management System) module. The ideal candidate will lead development initiatives, drive complex system enhancements, and provide technical leadership across VisionPLUS implementations. This role requires strong domain expertise in card processing systems and hands-on experience in mainframe technologies.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Coral Spring, Florida is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead design, development, and implementation of solutions within the VisionPLUS CMS module.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for CMS functionalities and card lifecycle management.
- Architect and deliver scalable solutions for card issuance, maintenance, billing, and servicing.
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into robust technical designs.
- Oversee end-to-end development lifecycle including coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Manage and optimize batch processing cycles and online transactions (CICS).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and offshore teams.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and enterprise architects.
- Lead production support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Drive system upgrades, migrations, and VisionPLUS version enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and compliance.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in VisionPLUS development, with strong focus on CMS module.
- Deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 in IBM z/OS mainframe environment.
- Strong understanding of card management systems and payment processing.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Card lifecycle management (issuance, activation, reissue, closure)
- Account setup and maintenance
- Billing, statements, and transaction processing
- Authorization and clearing processes
- Expertise in batch processing, job scheduling, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience in production support and incident management.
- Proven ability to handle large-scale, high-volume transaction systems.
- Experience with other VisionPLUS modules (e.g., FAS, TRAMS, VMx).
- Knowledge of payment networks (Visa, MasterCard) and integration standards.
- Experience in system integration, APIs, and middleware.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to cloud integration or modernization initiatives.
Preferred, but not required:
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead distributed/global teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Prior experience with large banking or financial institutions.
- Experience in regulatory and compliance-driven environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices in mainframe ecosystems.
