The team
As a Global Delivery (GD) Senior Technical Consultant, you will perform Professional Services for HitachiVantara customers as defined in a Statement of Work. The role requires you to perform the assigned tasks while building a customer's confidence in HV, HV's technology, and HV’S services team. These services are both technical and consultative. You will take responsibility for a smooth transition from implementation to Operations. The technical consultant is an experienced professional, with a full understanding of practice specialisation. They exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
The role
- Understand the customer’s business, IT infrastructure, current technical issues, and strategy
- Perform Professional Services for HV customers, as defined in a Statement of Work
- Perform activities as identified by your manager, or as assigned by a Project Manager
- Provide status information to Project Managers task status and completion estimates
- Inform the Project Manager when a customer requests an activity or deliverable that may be beyond the Statement of Work
- Provide deliverables and presentations defined in the Statement of Work
- Validate with the Project Manager that the completion expectations have been met
- Participate in project review sessions to share materials or lessons-learned
- Develop skills and work with your manager to attend prescribed training, as defined in the training schedule
- Identify opportunities to gain additional skills through working with other members of the team
- Create detailed technical designs from high level solution designs, based on the analysis of customer’s environment and requirements
- Work closely with the internal project team and customer to implement the technical solution
- Provide guidance to local teams or 3rd party partners to implement the technical solution
- Provide technical subject matter expertise to troubleshoot implementation, operational, connectivity and network issues
- Provide advice and guidance to Senior Consultants and Consultants
- Establish a dialogue with the customer to establish technical authority status
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years technical consultancy and Enterprise experience
- 5+ years technical IT related experience
- At least three years’ experience within Hitachi technologies, a similar competitor organisation, end user or IT consultancy services provider
- Must be a problem solver who is able to work independently, organized and strong attention to detail
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule and willingness to travel
- Excellent customer and employee relationships - must be able to interact successfully with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels in the organisation
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent education or experience
- Communication: Must be an excellent communicator. Must have excellent skills with English (additional languages preferred), and be able to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
