Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (SME) is a key technical leader supporting the Counter–Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Joint Capability Office (JCO). The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise to the JCO Technical Advisor for Technology, Systems, and Applications and lead initiatives focused on technical management, systems integration, advanced technology development, and cross-domain system analysis.
As a Senior Systems Engineer (SME) your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the principal technical advisor to the JCO Technical Advisor for C-UAS Technology, Systems, and Applications.
- Evaluate the entire DoD C-UAS portfolio and provide expert recommendations across the Joint Force.
- Provide technical guidance and support for concept development, science and technology, research and development, and requirements analysis related to C-UAS.
- Lead systems engineering efforts including architecture design, system integration, interoperability, modeling and simulation, and system effectiveness analysis.
- Participate in and contribute to technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, and decision-making forums with DoD and Army senior leaders, government agencies, and contractors.
- Recommend enhancements to system performance, integration strategies, and rapid implementation pathways for C-UAS capabilities.
- Conduct in-depth technical investigations, evaluate new technologies, and assess vendor capabilities.
- Author and review technical publications, white papers, and patents, contributing to the advancement of engineering best practices and innovation within the DoD.
- Provide consultation and mentoring to internal engineering teams and external partners.
Job Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Master’s or Doctorate in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 15+ years of progressive, complex systems design experience.
- Active DoD security clearance at the TS level, TS/SCI is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating complex hardware/software systems, with expertise in areas such as modeling & simulation, sensor integration, or system-of-systems design.
- Proven ability to lead high-impact, cross-functional engineering efforts and mentor technical teams, with strong analytical, verbal, and technical writing skills.
- Experience collaborating with DoD senior leadership, joint capability offices, and familiarity with acquisition processes, rapid prototyping, and emerging C-UAS technologies.
- Recognized authority in at least one domain: C-UAS systems, multi-domain operations, command and control (C2) systems, or sensor integration and performance analysis.
