Senior Supervisor (M/F/D)

Avantor is seeking a motivated Senior Supervisor to join the growing team in Beerse. In this role, you will provide direct support to the Site Manager and act as the first point of contact for other Supervisors onsite. This is a full-time hybrid position, based at the J&J site in Beerse. While the majority of your time will be spent onsite, you will have the flexibility to work from home one day per week. Occasional travel to customer locations within Belgium may also be required. Working Hours: Monday – Friday, with flexible start times between 07:30 and 09:00, and finish time starting from 16:00.

The Team

You are responsible for a team of eight associatesreporting directly into you. You’ll closely collaborate with the onsite manager and together with your team and colleagues, you belong to our department Lab and Production Services. This division of Avantor supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry. 

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or equivalent experience

Experience:

• Prior experience in the Chemistry or Life Sciences industry is preferred
• People management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong skills in MS Office Package are required
• Effective and fluent communication skills in both English and Dutch; French is a plus.
• Knowledge of scientific activities is a strong asset 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer-centric and highly motivated to take a team to the next level
• Perseverant, structured and diplomatic 

How You Will Thrive and Create an Impact

• Lead and mentor a diverse team across logistics, technical, and scientific functions
• Provide direct support to the on-site manager and act as deputy during their absence
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to support various projects
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring efficient communication with Avantor's back office
• Act as a technical expert to assist our customer in achieving regulatory compliance (GMP, equipment validation, SOP reviews)
• Develop and implement inventory management strategies and processes to optimize consumable inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce costs across multiple Research labs
• Regularly meet with stakeholders to review services and explore new opportunities
• Drive innovation and sustainability efforts to meet the client’s targets
