Job Description
A Senior Scientist III works in our Investigation & Remediation practice group develops and maintains client relationships and works with clients to get their projects done on time, on budget, while exceeding expectations. You will contribute to the firm’s success by:
- Leverage existing and develop new relationships with clients, vendors, and industry network to generate leads and opportunities for revenue growth.
- Actively participate in industry or professional organizations and attend selected industry conferences with the goal of growing relationships and understanding market trends.
- Assist or lead preparation of proposal/qualifications solicitations (RFPs/RFQs) with Investigation & Remediation-related scopes of work.
- Collaborate with other divisions of the firm to drive cross-selling opportunities.
- Serve as Senior Scientist and Senior Project Manager for selected clients and projects, serving as liaison between client and project team.
- Work with Project Managers (PMs) to develop and execute project scopes and drive project safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
- Rally the project team, keep them on track, and drive projects to completion.
- Work with Operational Managers to identify and develop staffing resources to prepare for and complete projects.
- Manage a functional team of technical staff and provide mentorship, training, and related support for professional development to staff.
- Contribute to the creation of annual budgets and drive adherence to financial goals.
- Active participation in office engagement and team building events.
- Perform technical work and serve as Senior Quality Reviewer of project deliverables on a variety of Investigation & Remediation projects including due diligence, regulatory reporting, and risk-based assessments/remediation.
What We’d Love to See in You:
- BS degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field and a minimum of 12 years of direct environmental consulting experience.
- Demonstrated, high-level of experience and knowledge of environmental investigation and remediation as they apply to regulatory, commercial, industrial, and energy clients.
- Detail-oriented, motivated, analytical thinker, problem solver with a driven work ethic.
- Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior and mid-level staff.
- Strong desire to help build and grow a client base through diverse business development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- PE, PG, CHMM or other professional certification preferred, but not required.
