As a Senior Research & Sports Science Manager, you will execute the design, implementation, and analysis of biomechanical and physiological tests that provide direct performance insights into product. You will serve a vital role validating and optimizing our performance product. You will play a key role in translating lab findings to a multidisciplinary team and relating findings to footwear and athlete performance.
Responsibilities:
Lead internal and external programs which deliver sports science insights to increase the understanding of the athlete and athlete-product interaction
Lead NITRO Lab testing with a focus on delivering proven performance insights both on hypothesis and validation level
Question methods, results, and application and think outside normal paradigms to find creative ways around barriers
Utilize scientific expertise to develop and implement protocols that deliver performance insights
Connect the dots in all phases of research to provide a holistic evaluation of new concepts to achieve objectives as well as a high level of efficiency and accountability
Translate and communicate research findings into meaningful performance outcomes for key stakeholders
Work closely and build relationships with some of our key athletes
Manage and mentor lab members
- MS or PhD in Kinesiology, Engineering, Biomechanics, or a related field
- 5+ years' experience in footwear research
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, experimental design, and statistical analysis
- Proven experience working with athletes and coaches
- Strong technical skills with biomechanical equipment (metabolic cart, motion capture, force plates, IMUs, pressure insoles)
- Experience with data processing in Matlab, Python, or R
- Excellent organization and time management skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Domestic and International travel required
The hiring range base pay for this position is $95,00-$125,000 + Bonus + Benefits
