About the Role: As a Staff R&D Engineer, you will drive the development of groundbreaking automotive technologies that enhance the user experience for both cars and motorcycles. Your work will ensure the competitive advantage of Drivemode and Honda products by researching, designing, and implementing new solutions while optimizing existing ones.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Rapidly prototype and develop concept applications to validate next-generation automotive solutions.
  • Assess and validate the technical feasibility of complex automotive requirements.
  • Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance user experience.
  • Conduct technical analysis of hardware and software, presenting optimal solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems and/or application development.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience working with Linux or RTOS.
  • Ability to design and architect complex software systems integrating hardware, backend services, and mobile applications.
  • A passion for pushing technological boundaries in the automotive industry.
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level Japanese or JLPT N1 with strong English communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Automotive Networking: CAN, LIN, Ethernet.
  • Wireless & Connectivity: Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, LTE (UE & eNodeB).
  • Positioning & Navigation: GNSS, dead reckoning, car navigation systems.
  • Emerging Technologies: Vision-based AI, IoT hardware/software development.
