Job Description

We are looking for a Platform Architect to help define and guide the evolution of our enterprise-wide platform - Ascend Platform capabilities.

You will design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing platform solutions that support enterprise-wide applications. You will bridge business needs with technical strategy, ensuring that platform architecture aligns with organizational goals, technology standards, and operational requirements. You will report directly to the VP of Platform Engineering.

What you'll do:

  • Shape the architecture of core platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Evaluate latest technologies and recommend adoption strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Work with engineering, product, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure cohesive platform development and integration.
  • Establish architectural standards, best practices, and governance models for platform development and operations.
  • Monitor platform performance and guide optimization efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure platform designs meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting a culture of architectural excellence.
  • Guide infrastructure modernization projects, including cloud migration and hybrid environments.
  • Ensure systems are resilient, secure, and optimized for performance.
  • Participate incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and learning.
  • Ensure understanding of Enterprise standards set by internal Technology Executive Board, data protection regulations, and internal policies.
  • Manage risk through proactive monitoring, auditing, and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with emphasis on building scalable, enterprise-grade platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience in software architecture, platform engineering, or infrastructure design.
  • In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and data-intensive application design.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, along with building CI/CD pipelines for production environments.
  • Architectural leadership, technology adoption and promote platform reuse across diverse teams.
  • Experience with microservices, APIs, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is a plus.
