The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $125,944-$220,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
- Lead system focused sustainability efforts for Dematic Global Products and Solutions.
- Drive a Sustainability focus to R&D activities inclusive of everything encompassed within the supply chain ecosystem, including material handling products, warehouse management software, solution process design, and other areas encompassed within the logistics ecosystem.
- Establish and govern the sustainability performance scorecard and ensure alignment with corporate metrics and objectives.
- Drive behaviors and outcomes that enable Dematic and its customers to become a more sustainable enterprise.
- Drive product and solution sustainability strategy that helps Dematic position itself to support customer targets, sustainability messaging development, sustainability competitive analysis, and differentiation.
- Contribute to Global Products and Solutions updates for quarterly and annual sustainability reports.
- Report in Sustainability frameworks and standards.
- Drive SBTi scope 3.11 roadmap for 2050 (emissions during use phase).
- Drive EU taxonomy efforts for the KION group operating units feeding compulsory requirements.
- Develop and mentor staff to drive completion of Environmental Product Declarations, Life Cycle Assessments, Cradle to Cradle certifications, and general subject matter expert support of the Dematic R&D organization.
- Support and drive energy measuring and reporting methods for products and solutions.
- Drive personnel safety improvements into products and solutions to satisfy new requirements from both external and internal sources.
- Develop a strategic plan identifying key gaps and opportunities that align with sustainability goals and objectives.
- Create and deliver key messages enabling the communications team and external agencies to execute relevant campaigns and programs.
- Support Product Management and R&D in business cases creation and integrating sustainability value propositions.
- Communicate plans across Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Executive Management.
- Communicate with customers covering Sustainability topics relevant to their solutions and review contracts for sustainability requirements and alignment to Dematic capabilities.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Systems Engineering or closely related field and six years of experience as a Sustainability Manager, Specialist, or Engineer; Health, Safety, and Environment Manager or Leader or closely related occupation. Also requires four years of experience with data collection, data analysis, data validation, or statistical operational tools; three years of experience implementing, auditing and certifying Environmental Management Systems and Energy Management Systems, leading life cycle assessments, and setting up the foundations, framework and gap assessments to identify opportunities prior to the certification process; and developing, implementing and leading Sustainability Strategies at a Corporate and Operational level.
Up to 10% travel required to various unanticipated locations. Pre-employment processing for this position requires drug testing and passing background checks.
