Senior Legal Counsel

This role strengthens Sanofi’s legal capability in Vietnam by providing timely, practical, and business-focused legal guidance across commercial, compliance, and operational matters. You will partner closely with business leaders to support growth, mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with local laws and Sanofi’s global standards. The position offers exposure to complex transactions, cross-functional initiatives, and regional/global legal teams.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, effective, and solutions-oriented legal advice to business stakeholders.
• Support the design and implementation of strategic legal initiatives that balance business objectives, regulatory requirements, and company protection.
• Assess, identify, and mitigate legal and operational risks; enhance risk-assessment frameworks.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documentation.
• Monitor, interpret, and communicate legal and regulatory developments; support implementation of compliance requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and business units on assigned matters, projects, and transactions.
• Structure and negotiate complex business arrangements with speed and accuracy.
• Manage litigation matters, including coordination with external counsel and regulatory authorities.
• Represent the company before relevant tribunals or authorities as required.
• Deliver legal training, support gap-assessment initiatives, and promote a strong compliance culture.
• Escalate issues when appropriate and ensure consistent management of legal topics.
• Demonstrate initiative, agility, strong ethics, and a transparent working approach.

Experience & Knowledge

• 10+ years of experience in-house and/or at a law firm; experience in healthcare is an advantage.
• Strong commercial legal background, proficient in drafting and negotiating complex contracts in both English and Vietnamese.
• Experience in litigation management or advisory work.
• Solid understanding of Vietnamese pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations.

Education

• Bachelor of Laws from a recognized Vietnamese university.
