The Role

As the Sr. Growth Lead, you will play a critical role in driving digital subscription growth through innovative performance media strategies, affiliate program expansions, and mobile app growth initiatives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your expertise in paid media, affiliate marketing, and mobile app marketing to optimize campaign performance, enhance user engagement, and maximize revenue. This role offers a unique blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of our digital strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Marketing:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive performance media strategies, managing an annual budget to drive new subscriber acquisition and engagement.
  • Lead and optimize marketing campaigns on Google, Meta, and other paid social channels, including display, social media, video, mobile, and search.
  • Support an experimentation culture by building a 'test to invest' model across paid media platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for spend, targeting, bidding, creative, and landing pages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Finance, Data & Analytics, Creative, and the Newsroom, to scale acquisition efforts.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, third-party vendors, and key partners.


Affiliate Marketing:

  • Formulate and implement comprehensive affiliate marketing strategies to drive digital subscription growth and revenue.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with key affiliate partners, ensuring alignment with AJC's brand and business goals.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of affiliate marketing campaigns, including content creation, promotional offers, and performance tracking.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and generate detailed reports to inform strategic decisions and optimize future campaigns.
  • Manage the affiliate marketing budget efficiently to maximize ROI.
  • Ensure all affiliate activities comply with relevant regulations and maintain high standards of quality and brand integrity.


Mobile App Growth:

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive app growth, user acquisition, and engagement for the AJC digital news app.
  • Design and execute campaigns to increase app downloads and user acquisition through various channels, including app stores, social media, and partnerships.
  • Create and implement strategies to enhance user engagement and retention, including push notifications, in-app messaging, and personalized content.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of growth strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Work closely with the product development, editorial, analytics, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive approach to app growth and user experience.
  • Manage the budget for app growth initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources to achieve maximum ROI.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • Bachelors degree with 8 years of experience (and 3 years in a leadership role) in performance marketing, affiliate marketing, mobile app marketing, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving growth and managing budgets OR MS + 6 years of experience or 12 years without a formal degree.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in marketing platforms and tools related to paid media, affiliate marketing, and mobile marketing.
  • Journalism experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of SEO, ASO (App Store Optimization), and digital marketing best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

USD 117,300.00 - 195,500.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
