We are now looking for a Senior GPU Performance Architect, AI applications. NVIDIA GPU Architecture group is looking for architects and software developers to join our various architecture efforts. A key part of NVIDIA's strength is to innovate in the graphics and parallel computing fields, delivering the highest performance in the world for graphics processing.
A fast growing direction in our group is to study performance of large-scale generative AI models and neural graphics for gaming and physical simulation in order to deliver the highest full system performance in the world. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our architecture and maintain our leadership by developing new parallel programming models, new architectures and infrastructure that is required to make this successful.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Competitive analysis and performance studies of new use-cases, such as large-scale generative AI models, neural graphics for gaming and physical simulation, and VR/AR.
-
Performance analysis of graphics hardware features and APIs to identify bottlenecks, leading to recommendations for future architectures.
-
Deriving algorithms for tuning of games and content creation applications on existing hardware, possible prototyping of implementations.
-
Developing and enhancing innovative tools for architectural performance analysis and projections.
-
Working with other world-class architects on analysis, validation, and tuning of graphics architectures and features that advance the state of art in performance and energy efficiency.
What we need to see:
-
Masters, PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field. Ideally passionate about Deep Learning Algorithms and Computer Architecture.
-
7+ years of relevant industry or research experience.
-
Skilled in GPU performance profiling, debug and test content development. Experience in applying ML/AI algorithms to applications, tools and workflows a plus.
-
Meaningful experience in real-time 3D rendering or ray tracing, knowledge of DirectX or OpenGL preferred. Familiarity with DirectML or USD a plus.
-
Strong programmer, proficient in Python, C++ and/or CUDA.
-
A strong foundation in mathematics, algorithms and data structures; and exposure to machine learning and deep learning fundamentals to complement your expertise in 3D Computer Graphics.
-
A great teammate; excellent problem solver, result-oriented with a positive attitude.
-
Curiosity to learn new things, and a passion for optimization.
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
-
Ability to collaborate effectively cross-team and drive to solutions with agility.

What We Do
NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, NVIDIA is increasingly known as “the AI computing company.”
