Senior Global IT Category Manager

What success looks like in this role:

• Manages IT Category suppliers (software, hardware, telecom).

• Negotiates agreements, amendments and other supplier contracts with new and existing suppliers.

• Responsible to liaise with one or more business units or corporate functions to ensure ongoing visibility to requirements.

• Responsible for category management of one or more subcategories.

• Runs requests for information or proposal to assist in the selection of new suppliers and/or to reduce run-rate spend.

• Analyzes budget, cost and spend across the company, identifying trends and methods to reduce costs and improve quality.

• Assists procurement leadership with design and implementation of appropriate internal controls, accounting and reporting procedures.
• Leads or serves as key team member on projects with strategic, financial and global impact.
• Advises leadership on potential procurement issues associated with business expansion, contraction, etc.
• Leads continuous business process improvement by recommending process enhancement and expanding the use of technologies, tools and processes.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

BA/BS degree and 8+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Master’s degree preferred

4+ Years' experience in a service-led company

5+ Years' experience in Software/SaaS/Cloud licensing for resale and provision of managed services to third parties - demonstrated skill in licensing concepts

5+ Years' experience in contracting - demonstrated skill in review and redlining of legal and operational contract terms

4+ Years of Category Management experience

Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated excellence in business engagement skills
