HiveMQ’s Vision for this role
The general ledger accountant will support the day-to-day business of group accounting, working closely with the Director of Finance. Additionally, you will support the professional and process-related optimization of the accounting function. Ensuring the overall success of the finance function and helping the company comply with the financial and regulatory requirements.
You will…
- Prepare and record journal entries and take on operational responsibility in the monthly bookkeeping.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including but not limited to reconciliations of general ledgers, sub-ledgers and record adjustments in the accounting system according to HGB and IFRS.
- Lead on year-end closing process of local and global entities by preparing financial statements, generation of accounting and audit reports such as trial balance, related schedules, and other financial reports and liaising with external auditors
- Administer the intercompany recharge process.
- Develop and optimize accounting processes, eg accounting policies and reconciliation of accounts.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to solve challenges and blockers.
- Oversee and manage Oracle NetSuite ERP, serving as the primary internal point of contact for all Oracle NetSuite-related inquiries.
- Partner with FP&A around monthly variance analysis
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Assist with other accounting projects as required
You have…
- A minimum of 4 years of work experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-growing B2B tech, software, or SaaS environment and preferably from a Big 4 Audit firm.
- A completed commercial vocational training as an Accountant (in German “Finanzbuchhalter”), a Bachelor/Master degree is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in accounting software Oracle Netsuite.
- German and EU VAT law
- Very strong German and English verbal and written communication skills are required
- Hands-on mentality and entrepreneurial mindset; you are ready to roll up your sleeves to deliver alongside our team
