About the role

Navitas is seeking an innovative, and high-performing Senior Full-Stack WordPress Web Developer with significant front-end development experience, expertise in custom WordPress theme and plugin development, and advanced English language skills.


The primary purpose of this role is to develop, maintain, and enhance the Navitas Europe College websites. These websites are powered by the WordPress Content Management System (CMS), with PHP serving as the primary scripting language. The role also involves building and maintaining front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.


As a Senior Web Developer, you will provide technical expertise and support, ensuring all development work adheres to industry standards, best practices, and organizational requirements.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria

Critical Skills

  • Strong expertise in front-end development, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in back-end development using PHP and MySQL.
  • Extensive experience in WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
  • Advanced English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.

Additional Requirements

  • 5–7 years of full-time professional experience in a Web Development role.
  • Proven experience optimizing websites for search performance, SEO, and AIO.
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of version control systems (Git) and deployment workflows.
  • Understanding of web services and API integrations, including SOAP and REST.

Desirable

  • Experience working in an Agile environment and using project management tools such as Jira.

Communication

  • Collaborate with global business stakeholders, marketing teams, and web development teams to deliver effective digital solutions.
  • Communicate website enhancements, updates, and changes to Navitas staff using established workflow and project management tools.
  • Analyse, document, and improve processes and workflows to support efficient project delivery and continuous improvement.
