Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and translate them into effective data and reporting solutions
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports (including version control via Git)
- Build and optimize data models and pipelines within Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric
- Develop data products using SQL and PySpark
- Implement data quality checks, governance standards, and security best practices
- Optimize performance of queries and data processing workflows
- Document system architecture, data flows, and development processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Manager, Architects, and Analysts in Geneva and Budapest
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressively responsible postgraduate experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on big data modelling
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse and Power BI report development
- Proven track record as a Data Engineer or similar role, including Power BI, Paginated Reports, or SSRS development
- Experience in Data Lake and Data Lakehouse implementation (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, Apache Spark/Hadoop, or similar big data/SQL platforms)
- Proficiency in Data Vault and dimensional data modeling techniques
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Java
- Proficiency with the Apache Spark framework
- Experience in data governance, data architecture, and managing large datasets and data pipelines
- Preferred: experience in data product development, business value case development, and data product deployment
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
