Our team is looking for an experienced AWS cloud Architect to be part of a dynamic, high performing team leading the development and implementation of the Global Finance Data & Analytics platform. This team is performing a vital role in transforming our mindset to using data as an enterprise asset by enabling platforms that bring data to modernized data platform on AWS & Snowflake.
We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to join our team. The AWS Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring complex AWS Cloud Solutions and infrastructure for the Caterpillar IT organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing, AWS products and services, and experience in designing and deploying architecture on the AWS platform.

Participates in defining functional designs and application systems architecture across various digital platforms.

  • Responsibilities
  • Developing detailed architecture deliverables to solve business problems
  • Designing an application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
  • Leading the evaluation and deployment of new technologies to add or enhance existing digital technical capabilities.
  • Participating in addressing business requirements for applications and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver digital solutions that meets business results


What you will do

  • Design and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant, and reliable applications on AWS.
  • Select appropriate AWS services to design and deploy an application based on given requirements.
  • Migrate complex, multi-tier applications on AWS.
  • Implement cost-control strategies.
  • Design and deploy enterprise-wide scalable operations on AWS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the system is implemented correctly and take responsibility for any issues that might arise because of the designed architecture.
    Advise on best practices for cloud security and compliance.
    Manage and monitor AWS cloud resources.
    Create and maintain disaster recovery strategies. Provide expertise on application and infrastructure architecture on the AWS platform.
    Continuously review existing tech stack and suggest improvements and upgrades.


What you will have

  • 8-10 years of experience in the IT industry with a minimum of 6 years of AWS experience, which entails architecting large, complex systems and large-scale projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional) is a mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud concepts, architecture patterns, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with any cloud, preferably AWS, is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical solutions clearly. Knowledge of basic AWS offerings such as S3, EC2, RDS, RedShift, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud governance knowledge and best practices in the AWS Cloud
