We’re looking for a skilled and ambitious Senior Database Reliability Administrator to join our Data Engineering team. You’re a highly technical professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and a data-as-a-service mindset. As a Senior Database Reliability Administrator, you’ll take on complex technical challenges and play a key role in evolving our modern, cloud-native data environment. What you’ll do and how you’ll have an impact

• Lead large-scale database migration projects driven by company acquisitions and rapid growth;
• Design and execute deployment strategies for blue/green rollouts, data archiving, and partitioning;
• Build and optimize vector database infrastructure to power devs.ai and semantic search capabilities;
• Use AI-powered automation to strengthen our data platform across key pillars:
  • Operational excellence
  • Security & compliance
  • Performance & scalability
  • Resiliency & capacity planning
• Enhance database security and governance through least-privilege access, auditing, and streamlined access controls;
• Guide engineers in delivering fit-for-purpose database solutions across relational, key-value, and document models;
• Build self-healing, automated systems that improve observability, alerting, and operational efficiency;
• Research innovative solutions, run proof-of-concepts, and implement best practices;
• Maintain a strong culture of documentation by developing and sharing high-quality knowledge resources;
• Deliver robust, automated solutions using CI/CD pipelines.

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL;
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with NoSQL, one of :MongoDB, Redis or ElasticSearch;
• 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services;
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a primary focus on Terraform;
• Strong understanding of SQL performance tuning and experience working with large datasets;
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and productivity tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve efficiency, automation, and code quality;
• Exposure to vector databases such as Pinecone is a plus;
• Practical knowledge of containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes);
• Proficiency with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, or Ansible);
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to peers and non-technical stakeholders;
• Experience working in a distributed team is an asset;
• Familiarity with SQL Server and Microsoft Azure or AWS Aurora Serverless is a plus.
