We are seeking an experienced Compliance & Quality Control Manager to oversee the end-to-end import process of food products into the UK and EU markets, with a particular focus on global and Asian brands. This role combines regulatory expertise, operational coordination, and stakeholder management. You will be responsible for ensuring imported food items meet local safety and labelling standards, while coordinating closely with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to ensure timely and compliant delivery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end food import operations, ensuring products comply with UK and EU food safety and labelling regulations.

  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers, brand owners, and distributors on product selection and shipment arrangements.

  • Review product ingredients, documentation, and packaging for compliance with applicable standards.

  • Prepare compliant product labels based on local market requirements.

  • Arrange purchase orders and coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery.

  • Support customs documentation and clearance processes.

  • Stay informed of food-related regulatory changes in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, and France.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (legal, operations, tax, logistics) and external regulatory contacts as needed.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in International Trade, Food Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in food import operations, with knowledge of UK and EU food compliance frameworks.

  • Familiarity with labelling and documentation requirements for imported food products.

  • Understanding of relevant environmental and sustainability regulations (e.g. packaging waste, EPR).

  • Experience handling customs processes and working with logistics service providers.

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g. Mandarin Chinese) is a plus.

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage cross-border workflows independently.
