Overview: We are seeking a Senior Market & Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our team and provide deep insights into the data center industry. In this role, you will analyze market trends, industry dynamics, and competitor strategies to support the company’s growth and strategic decision-making. Your work will drive competitive positioning, market expansion strategies, and corporate development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Intelligence:
- Conduct detailed analyses of industry trends, market opportunities, customer demands, and emerging technologies within the global and regional data center markets.
- Track industry developments, including regulatory changes, technological advancements (e.g., AI, cloud, edge computing, green data centers), and competitive landscape shifts.
- Provide insights into macroeconomic and geopolitical factors that could impact the data center industry and company operations in key markets.
- Competitive Intelligence:
- Monitor and analyze key competitors, including their market strategies, pricing models, product/service offerings, partnerships, and expansion plans.
- Develop in-depth profiles of key competitors and present actionable insights on their strengths, weaknesses, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify competitive threats and opportunities by tracking new market entrants, M&A activity, and customer behavior shifts.
- Data Collection & Analysis:
- Use various research methods (e.g., secondary research, market reports, financial analysis, industry conferences) to gather quantitative and qualitative data on the data center landscape.
- Analyze industry reports, financial statements, earnings calls, and customer feedback to inform business strategy.
- Leverage data analytics tools and software to analyze market data and trends, ensuring data-driven insights.
- Strategic Insights:
- Work closely with business functions (sales, product development, marketing, and corporate strategy) to deliver intelligence that supports decision-making.
- Develop forecasts and predictive models to anticipate market developments and competitive moves.
- Provide strategic recommendations on expansion opportunities, M&A prospects, and go-to-market strategies based on intelligence findings.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Create regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate market and competitive intelligence to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Present actionable insights and intelligence updates to executive teams to inform strategic planning sessions and corporate development activities.
- Ensure intelligence findings are integrated into strategic initiatives, including pricing, product roadmaps, competitive battlecards and market entry strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, market research, data science, or a related field
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in market intelligence, competitive intelligence, or strategy within the data center, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, or technology industries.
- Proven track record of delivering actionable market insights and competitive analyses that have driven strategic decision-making.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills; experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, SFDC, Excel, and industry-specific databases.
- Proficiency in research tools and databases (e.g., Gartner, IDC, 451 Research, Synergy).
- Experience using financial data and competitive benchmarking to inform strategic decisions.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of the data center industry, including knowledge of key areas such as colocation, interconnection, carrier hotels, hyperscale data centers, cloud adoption, and sustainability initiatives.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance issues affecting the data center industry, such as energy efficiency standards and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).
- Awareness of emerging trends impacting data center design and cost structures such as liquid cooling, fuel cells, SMRs and sustainable building materials.
- Communication Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and present insights in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong presentation skills with experience delivering insights to senior executives.
- Soft Skills:
- Highly detail-oriented, with a passion for staying current on market and industry trends.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the data center industry.
- Experience with forecasting and predictive modeling.
- Understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, 5G, and edge computing and their impact on data centers.

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.
Salary Range
$110,000—$140,000 USD
