Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Accountant to join our Global Specialty Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Lead Accountant of Reconciliations for Global Specialty to support the oversight of monthly and quarterly close activities, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
You’ll ensure reconciliations are accurate, supported by documentation, and aligned with the corporate general ledger. You will also provide timely reports, help resolve reconciling items, and serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with excellent organizational and people skills, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Prior accounting or financial analyst experience is required, and insurance industry experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation.
Research and resolve significant balance sheet variances.
Prepare month-end journal entries, revenue reports, and related analysis.
Assist with the monthly close of agency management systems.
Provide monthly and quarterly reconciliation support.
Complete reporting requests from Finance, Leadership, and other internal departments.
Fulfill audit requests and contribute to the annual audit process.
Review and report on aged receivables (over 180 days) and producer commission deficits on a quarterly basis.
Reconcile intercompany and commission clearing balances between Acrisure Partners.
Monitor bank activity and assist in ensuring accurate postings by team members in a timely manner.
Assist with annual and quarterly activities, including escheatment.
Provide “best in class” support to internal teams, Partners, and external stakeholders.
Lead team projects and assignments, ensuring timelines are met and expectations are clearly communicated.
Identify unresolved issues, escalate appropriately, and implement corrective action plans where needed.
Requirements:
Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
Collaborative and relationship-driven approach with a high level of professionalism.
Proven problem-solving abilities and initiative.
Comfortable working independently and managing sensitive information with discretion.
Experience providing direction or mentorship to junior staff (preferred).
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting, audit, or financial analysis experience.
Prior experience with income statement and balance sheet preparation required.
Strong background in variance analysis and reconciliation processes.
Insurance brokerage or related industry accounting experience preferred.
Experience with insurance agency management systems (e.g., AMS360, Applied Epic, TAM) highly desired.
Proficiency in ERP/general ledger systems (e.g., Workday preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
CPA track or certification (a plus, not required).
Experience in a multi-entity or intercompany environment.
