What you will do:
This Scrum Master role will support our PoS and Payments Engineering Team, and our QA Function headquartered in India. As a Scrum Master, in an Agile/iterative team you will be responsible for educating and coaching your Scrum/Kanban team(s) on GFOS Agile / Iterative processes. You will also be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives within your team and display a working knowledge of Kanban, Scrum and Iterative principles. Supporting impediment removals, fostering an environment that builds and supports a high performing team and monitoring team progress are key functions or this role.
You will partner with the Product Owner and Product Manager (who in India may be Product, Delivery and or Engineering associates) to ensure the product backlog is continuously refined and work is prioritized and scheduled. The Scrum Master is accountable for delivering value to the business and stakeholders. Understanding and supporting the TJX Solution Delivery Process (SDP) while adhering to Compliance guidelines is key.
The following are examples of typical Scrum Master activities.
Supports team impediment removal and dependency tracking
Facilitates Agile team ceremonies e.g., daily standups, reviews, retrospectives
Ensures team agreements are in place
Drives team iteration commitments and plan to maximize business value delivery
Collaborates with other Scrum Masters across the ART as necessary e.g., Scrum of Scrums
Coordinates with other teams as necessary, for example Shared Services or DevOps team
Key Partner with the Product Owner to ensure product backlog items are refined, prioritized and scheduled
Supports estimating activities within the team
Supports Release Planning
Responsible for facilitating capacity planning
Reviews metrics to measure team progress and responsible for achieving baseline KPI
Validates time tracking
Tracks team objectives using appropriate Agile tools/applications
Protects team from external interference
Supports ART Readiness/Preparations
May provide Flow Board Management if supporting a Kanban team
May be an Epic Owner
Minimum Qualifications
Over 5 years of experience working in Agile environments, with a strong focus on iterative delivery and continuous improvement
4+ years serving as a Scrum Master, guiding teams through Agile transformation and execution
Advanced Scrum certification (PSM II or CSP), demonstrating deep understanding of Agile principles and practices
Expertise in Agile delivery models, including Scrum and Kanban
Proficient in story structuring and sizing, defining "Definition of Done," facilitating Agile ceremonies, and driving effective sprint execution
Proven ability to coach and support multiple teams simultaneously, fostering collaboration and high performance
Exceptional facilitation and conflict resolution skills, enabling productive team dynamics and stakeholder engagement
Experienced in estimation and budgeting, supporting planning and forecasting across initiatives
Clear and transparent communicator, adept at aligning teams and stakeholders through concise messaging
Empathetic leadership style, supporting and motivating teams through challenges and change
Strong problem-solving capabilities, focused on removing impediments and maintaining team momentum
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of retail operations, in-store technologies, and omnichannel commerce
SAFE Agile Certifications are a plus.
