Eaton's North American Services Sales team is seeking a Western Regional Service Sales Director to join the team. This position is based at out of any of the following locations: Chandler, AZ; Portland, OR; Seattle WA; Salt Lake UT; Denver CO; San Diego CA; San Francisco CA; Los Angeles CA. Relocation benefits are available for this role.

Position Overview:

The role will direct and manage the activities of the Western region toward achieving sales, profit and growth goals while continually improving quality and customer serve levels within the group. The Regional Manager is responsible for the strategic management of regional sales resources to achieve sales/orders, market share, price, product mix, and financial metrics established by product divisions, operating divisions, and Sales Leadership. They are responsible for defining, leading, and managing comprehensive sales initiatives & programs affecting the organization and its key stakeholders (customers, distributors, partners, employees, and trade and business media). Must develop an annual strategic plan and annual budget. Must drive collaboration/sharing/teaming across the Eaton Services segment (which includes power distribution, switchgear modernization, CoE and CoE organizations to drive growth of the entire Eaton portfolio.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Acts a sales and marketing agent in conjunction with sales and operations management to ensure top line sales objectives are met. This role is responsible for providing strategy to identify and develop prospective new customers, keep current on trends and significant issues providing direction for the strategic planning process, ensure the region maintains effective relationships with and service to customers. Must work effectively with customer and Channel Partners within the region while maintaining relationships with the key decision makers.



  • This role will review monthly forecasts with accuracy to ensure the region meets these numbers on a monthly basis. Oversees efficient execution / ability to execute to sales quotes, cost control, leveraging subcontractors, managing receivables (works with credit department, resolves terms & condition issues with the contracts department, work with collections), and turn of backlog and projects.



  • Ensures an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent (find gaps and follow action plans to fill gaps), training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies and standards. Provides leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention within the region.



  • Maintains budgetary responsibility for the territory. Manages sales teams throughout assigned region to ensure the effective allocation of company resources and assets.



  • Advises senior management of customer and competitive developments that impact sales growth and profitability and recommends strategies and decision options to counteract market pressures.



  • Works closely with product divisions to implement strategies focused on the geographic, customer, industry, and market needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum 12 years of sales or marketing management experience required within the electrical industry
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Must be able to travel domestically 50% of the time



Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of sales management and sales or marketing experience in a services market
  • Direct sales experience in the electrical industry preferred
  • Prior P&L experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the data center sales process including products, application, and complex channels of distribution
  • Experience in an indirect sales model with manufacture reps and distribution
  • Bachelor's degree required with a preference for technical degrees

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $141,600 - $194,700 a year. Eligible for a performance-based Sales Incentive Plan with a target at 30% of base.
