About the role

Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, the VP of Corporate Development will lead all mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity, researching and sourcing potential companies for acquisition. This is a critical role that will partner closely with the CEO and the rest of Wonder’s executive leadership. The VP will take the lead on day-to-day project management and execution of acquisitions from sourcing to coordination of due diligence, including preparation for the management team, analysis, and reporting.

• Deep understanding and input into Wonder’s corporate strategy and how M&A can accelerate it
• Responsible for end-to-end M&A processes, including but not limited to profiling, sourcing, approaching, negotiating, and closing
• Take the lead on structuring, framing, and communicating complex problems
• Identify and analyze growth opportunities
• Participate in the development and planning expansion within M&A for 2022 and beyond
• Lead 2-5 acquisitions annually across all areas of the business especially in engineering, real estate, and food production

The experience you have

• Background in management consulting, banking, private equity (especially that target mid-market companies) and/or corporate development
• Top MBA preferred
• Some experience with building and developing corporate strategy and/or M&A
• Ability to think creatively, analytically, and strategically, while working independently
• Roll up your sleeves mentality with the ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
• Structuring, framing, and communicating complex problems
• Ability to manage a small, but mighty team
• Bonus points for background in physical engineering or general understanding
