The Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes (RHACS) team is looking for an enterprise-level engineer with a background in containerization technologies to join remotely as a Technical Account Manager. In this role, you'll work with a small set of key enterprise customers to provide practical technical and architectural guidance for Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes. Powered by deep integrations with Kubernetes, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes is an enterprise-ready, Kubernetes-native container security solution that enables enterprise customers to securely build, deploy, and run cloud-native applications anywhere. Technical account management is a premium support offering that builds, maintains, and grows long-lasting customer loyalty between Red Hat and our customers. In this role, you will create relationships with your customers, develop a deep technical understanding of their Red Hat implementation, share technical best practices, and act as point of contact for any major incidents. As a Technical Account Manager, you will manage customer expectations, tailor support for each customer's environment, facilitate collaboration with their other vendors, and advocate on their behalf. You will also partner closely with chief information security officers (CISOs), security architects, DevOps admins, site reliability engineers, as well as the support, product, engineering, and sales teams at Red Hat. Well-qualified, home-based applicants within the U.S. and Canada will be considered to work remotely in a state or province where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Lead customer on-boarding, adoption, and expansion
  • Develop a solid partnership with customer stakeholders, influencers and decision makers
  • Be a customer advocate in influencing product roadmap and improvements
  • Advise customers on how to best use Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes to secure their OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
  • Identify and escalate problems to the support and engineering teams
  • Gain a deep understanding of typical business challenges faced by our customers to help prioritize the product roadmap
  • Run periodic business reviews with large customers
  • Identify risks to renewals on an ongoing basis, and collaborate internally to remediate customer concerns
  • Establish relationships with customer executive sponsors, with frequent communication cadence to strengthen relationships while uncovering new opportunities


What you will bring

  • Experience in customer facing roles, including presales, account management, customer success, consulting, or similar roles related to managing customer success and adoption
  • Experience with Linux container technologies, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, etc.
  • Excellent consulting or project management skills, with proven results working as a reliable advisor to increase business value for customers
  • Passionate about managing and tracking a consistent engagement process with all customers in your portfolio
  • Outstanding troubleshooting skills and passion for problem-solving and investigation
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment with constant change to address emerging security risks and challenges
  • Ability to work with conflicting priorities, take initiative, and maintain a customer-centric focus


The following will be considered a plus:

  • Experience as a support engineer or in a cloud ops role, e.g., site reliability engineer, ops admin, or Linux sysadmin
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies
  • Familiarity with the container-related service offerings of at least one of the major cloud providers, e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of technical support systems and tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably in engineering or computer science
