The Red Hat Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Sales team is looking for an experienced federal sales professional to join us as a Strategic Accounts Manager. In this role, you will handle relationships with key DHS customers within the North America public sector (NAPS). You'll help our customers and partners support their critical mission and IT transformation efforts using our services and solutions. You'll be responsible for building new strategic executive-level relationships and expanding and improving the business with existing customers. As a Strategic Accounts Manager, you will work to gain an understanding of customers' mission, needs, and challenges, articulating the value of Red Hat's solutions and how they can address customer needs. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Communicate Red Hat's values and visions to the executive and management levels of customer organizations
  • Successfully sell solutions and services in the field
  • Develop new account areas of focus within the assigned account
  • Represent Red Hat to customers and customers to Red Hat in sales-related matters
  • Meet assigned sales quotas
  • Work to develop and expand a fixed set of named accounts
  • Lead a sales team consisting of solutions architects, insides sales representatives, consultants, engagement managers, and Red Hat's senior management


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of experience working in a federal sales account manager role
  • Significant knowledge of the U.S. public sector and the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) in particular
  • Record of working in software and services solutions sales in the federal sector
  • Demonstrated experience selling complex solutions to large matrixed organizations and multiple decision makers
  • Ability to create an account strategy to grow and expand an existing account
  • Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, initiative, and ability to work without direct supervision
  • Solid understanding of the U.S. federal government's acquisition process
  • Communication and technical skills that allow you to develop relationships at all levels throughout various organizations and programs within an agency
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
