Philips Healthcare is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to play a vital role in providing enterprise solutions to our GPO & Strategic accounts.

As the Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing contracts, building relationships, and expanding Philips' business within the GPO's and select strategic accounts, for all Philips Healthcare products.

You are responsible for:

  • Develop key relationships with executive decision makers, contract portfolio managers, group buy managers, other key members of the GPO organization and hospital-related construction companies.
  • Develop and maintain annual strategic plans, which include quarterly business reviews, product roadmap discussions and presentations to Advisory Boards when new products are launched. Provide strategic leadership; coordinate Regional and Zone Sales/Service efforts to grow overall business.
  • Be the ONE Philips deal team leader for all potential business within the GPO, by supporting multiple Philips companies; such as SRC, Children's Medical Ventures, and Disease Management Solutions. Must be proficient in managing capital equipment contracts as well as supplies/consumables.
  • Negotiate and manage T&C issues during and after the RFP process.
  • Single point of contact for Corporate GPO relationship and select strategic accounts.
  • Act as a role model demonstrating best practice ONE Philips behavior to enhance competitive edge.
  • Report monthly business metrics.
  • Manage the Vizient relationship and key IDNs that utilize this organization
  • Manage GPO contracts to achieve the following:
    • increase sales and market share where Philips is on contract
    • create demand to get Philips products/solutions onto contract where we are not
    • manage price files and be sure Philips adheres to all contract requirements
    • create "unfair advantages " for Philips over competitors who are also on GPO contracts
    • provide and report out on data analytics to provide good communication to the GPO teams
    • manage and put out fires on all contracted items


Your Challenge:

  • Work with Philips Business Unit leaders and field personnel within Philips Healthcare (Imaging Systems, Ultrasound, and Patient Care, Transformation Services, Clinical Informatics, and Multi-vendor Service) businesses to develop joint account strategies and maintain contractual focus.
  • Develop key, high level business relationships to facilitate in capturing incremental business and/or expanding our product portfolio.
  • Introduce and support Philips Executive Relationships within the GPO and supporting the key IDN's within the membership.
  • Manage the existing contracts and oversee numerous RFP's and RFI's simultaneously
  • Manage price files and other contractual obligations of the GPO agreements


You are a part of:

The Strategic Account Team reporting to the National Sales Leader / GPO

Works with key stakeholders (BIU,ZVP, RSM, AM, and Service) on creating, communicating, and driving customized account strategies on target accounts and to be the ONE Philips deal team leader for all potential business within the target accounts

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum four-year university degree.
  • Strong Business Acumen skills; a minimal of 5 years of experience in business management are required
  • Outstanding communication, analytics, drive and persistency skills are paramount to success in this position.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare market and interaction between hospital system and supplier
  • Experience with GPO's and contracting
  • Candidate will have knowledge and experience in negotiating and developing spreadsheets, documents, letters of intent and GPO agreements.
  • Experience in evaluating sales analytics such as funnel and booking information to report out trends and opportunities
  • Working knowledge of Philip Healthcare products and services is preferred.
  • Attention to detail is mandatory in "juggling many balls" at the same time
  • The ideal candidate must be well versed in excel, pivot tables, and analytics to manage spreadsheets with up to 20,000 line items
  • You must be well versed on contracting T&C issues, and be able to manage large complex RFP's.
