Department OverviewThe Software Enterprise Sales team is a group within Motorola Solutions, Inc. that provides industry leading, next generation Citizen Engagement, 9-1-1 Call Taking, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Jail Management, Public Service 311, and analytics software applications to the Public Safety and Public Service markets. No other company has the breadth and depth of technology and experience to deliver end to end public safety applications and mission critical voice and data communications systems.
Job Description
The Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Handling Demonstration and Sales Engineering team supports the Sales organization with evaluating a customer’s needs in regards to NG9-1-1 Call Handling solutions from our various solutions. Additionally, will assist with completing required Request for Proposal (RFP) and Quote request documents, recommendations for overall system design and identifying unique requirements for a given solution. The team will support the Sales Organization with customer meeting support, site walks and requirements gathering. Provide demo support for customer meetings, regional and national trade shows.
The Sr Solutions Demonstration Consultant will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Manages presale opportunities and implementation of the identified complex projects; this comprises all stages of the projects, starting from scope definition until the final close of the project, involved in the entire integration process
- The incumbent is responsible for the management of all aspects of the technical solution, Customer requirements and expectations within the projects
- Defines directions and requirements to ensure timely implementation and quality of the technical solutions
- Provide engineering services for Customers, including commissioning and testing Motorola equipment in accordance with technical requirements, documentation and contract obligations, system presentation for the internal/external customers
- Directly responsible for the preparation of system bids, taking into account the customer's needs and the equipment available, as well as any modifications required in conjunction with the product group
- Works with operations as well as other internal and external developers of the networking products and systems to meet customer's delivery requirements and meeting deadlines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: public safety, 911 communications, telephony architecture, network design, engineering, or sales
- Knowledge of 911 Emergency Call Handling systems, related Equipment, Network and Telephony architecture strongly preferred
- Support the Sales Team with customer meeting support, site walks and requirements gathering
- Provide demo support for onsite customer meetings, regional and national trade shows
- Work on detailed technical requirements for Request for Proposals (RFP)
- Complete various system requirements documentation and participate in various project review and meetings
- Excellent presentation skills preferred. Should be skilled with PowerPoint, drawing and diagramming tools (such as MS Visio or similar)
- Strong verbal and written skills; fluency in English
- Frequent travel will be required
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: public safety, 911 communications, telephony architecture, network design, engineering, or sales
