Sr. Mgr, Regional Sales Support - Ad Sales

JOB SUMMARY
Oversee sales support teams consisting of Sales Support Managers, Sales Support Supervisors, Account Planners (Aps) and Account Coordinators (ACs) who provide pre-sale and post-sale support to advertising Account Executives. This position plays a key role in hiring, training, coaching and developing a team of approximately 50-75 sales support professionals. The goal of this team is to help free up Account Executive's time as well as to provide efficient and timely support of our clients to meet their advertising needs. The Regional Sr Sales Support Manager will report to the Director, Sales Support of the division and will have a strong dotted line reporting relationship to the Regional Vice President of Sales.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all market Managers and Supervisors of Sales Support, APs and ACs.
- Review and adjust workloads of all support positions appropriately.
- Understand and work to improve the workflow for all lines of business.
- Deep understanding of all available sales products (TV and Advanced Advertising products).
- Ensure the sales support team is trained and proficient in our Advanced Advertising products and how to create effective, data-driven multi-screen advertising campaigns for all clients.
- Responsible for interviewing, selecting and onboarding all Managers of Sales Support Managers and be involved in the selection process for Supervisors, ACs and APs.
- Play a major role in overseeing career development and progression for team members.
- Partner with Regional Vice President of Sales and other Sales Leaders to understand and improve the sales experience for Account Executives.
- Work cross functionally with Operations, Finance, Pricing and Inventory, Production, Field Research and Marketing to ensure workflow is working appropriately.
- Review monthly KPIs and determine needs of the market and the ongoing training needs of team members.
- Assist in reporting that is requested.
- Serve on a team with other Sales Support Management to recommend best practices for other markets to adopt.
- Partner with regional Category and Client Development Leaders to infuse story telling into the support organization.
- Partner with Campaign Management team to ensure proper reporting and campaign management of all clients.
- Perform other duties as requested.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of Ad sales or Ad Sales Support experience
- 3+ years leading highly effective teams, ideally being large and geographically distributed.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer relationship skills, along with strong demonstrated abilities in cross functional collaboration and presentations
- Strong digital and advanced advertising marketing experience, including campaign development, metrics and optimization strategies
- Knowledge of cable television, digital products, and advanced advertising products
- Demonstrate ability to craft and achieve team alignment with "innovative" thinking and new ideas, competency and role definition, hiring, training, employee development and coaching.
- Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communications with an overarching ability to craft and tell a compelling story.
- Partner well with people from all levels of the organization
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems in an ever evolving landscape
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and handle multiple projects and tasks
- Ideally has experience in Sales Support, Account Planning, or Operations
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field is preferred
- This position may require travel approximately 15% of the time
