The MuleSoft Business Development team builds partnerships with ISVs and technology companies to create the market leading integration and API software ecosystem. Our team is critical in developing and managing a best in class Technology Partner Program to successfully deliver value to our customers, our partners, and our company. We execute across the entire partner lifecycle from sourcing partners to product integration and to Go-To-Market execution.

Job Description

MuleSoft is seeking a business development leader to manage a current and expanding team of professionals that will source, launch, and drive ISV partnership success. The team will focus on a diverse set of strategic partnerships in core industry verticals as well as the largest most significant horizontal enterprise software solutions. This role requires a strong leader to mentor and lead the team through the next stage of growth while executing on a set of market leading partnerships. In addition to leading the team, this role will identify best practices that can be leveraged across partners, work closely with Salesforce colleagues to drive mutual success, collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and sales, and ensure a long-term path that creates wins for the Customer, the Partner and for MuleSoft. This position is ideal for someone who has led a team of business development professionals to create meaningful partnerships for an enterprise software company across industry segments.

Details of the role

  • Manage a team of Business Development professionals and grow the team over time
  • Own the vertical and horizontal ISV partner relationships from partner sourcing to partner success. Your personal execution capabilities and the ability to guide the Business development team are critical to the future of our ecosystem
  • Maximize the MuleSoft ACV influenced by our ISV partners
  • Create relationships with key strategic ISVs in our most important industry segments
  • Collaborate with a broad set of Salesforce activities and people to drive mutual success
  • Collaborate cross functionally within MuleSoft across product, engineering, marketing, legal, and sales to ensure that we are leveraging and enabling the software ecosystem to the fullest extent possible
  • Drive efficiency and best practices across the team at each stage of the partner lifecycle
  • Leverage key dashboards that show the health of the program
  • Act as a key advocate and evangelist for the team and the overall ecosystem of partners


About You (Preferred qualifications and skills)

  • Experience managing a team of Business Development (strategic partnership) professionals leading to demonstrable value creation for the business
  • Experience leading a complex successful strategic software partnerships
  • Strong internal cross-functional experience building relationships with marketing, product, engineering, sales and legal teams
  • 10+ Years of relevant business development, product management, or channels experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise software application ecosystem
  • Some technical knowledge or experience is preferred as MuleSoft is a middleware/integration solution
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Ability to quickly analyze a set of information and create a value proposition for prospective partners and customers
  • Experience dealing with an enterprise SaaS company and partner related activities
  • Expertise in at least one industry segment preferred (Financial services, healthcare and life sciences, retail, consumer goods, manufacturing)
  • Creativity and a do-whatever-it-takes attitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding and effective interpersonal skills; along with exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
