As our Sr. Account Executive, Public Relations, you will…

Be Accountable and Responsible

For the strategic development and implementation of client programs that strengthen brands, build awareness, protect reputations, motivate employees and help grow our client’s business.  You will demonstrate exceptional media relations skills and manage multiple projects. As emerging leaders of the agency, you will also mentor and inspire junior team associates.

As a key day-to-day leader on critical accounts you will manage execution of internal and external communications programs for multiple clients; including corporate reputation initiatives, employee engagement programs, proactive and reactive media relations programs and social media initiatives and more.

In this position you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the client’s business and provide sound, responsive and reliable strategic counsel to our clients. In some cases, you will partner and collaborate with cross-departmental colleagues to ensure fully integrated marketing projects meet delivery requirements, deadlines and costs while maintaining the highest levels of client service.

  • Play pivotal role on the PR accounts, including handling day-to-day logistics for the team by driving and implementing public relations strategies for a variety of clients
  • Serve as day-to-day lead on client relationships by maintaining frequent and consistent contact with members of the client team; focus on becoming a strategic advisor to key client contacts
  • Deliver high-quality, responsive client service
  • Support day-to-day activities for the PR teams, including working with senior team members to help manage budgets and forecasts, oversee projects and clients, and contribute to new business proposals and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate understanding and clear communication of client’s goals and imperatives for internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrate understanding of the media landscape most important to your clients businesses and industries and how to reach and build relationships 
  • Demonstrate creative thinking in development of pitches for clients
  • Leverage traditional media as well as digital/emerging technology for public relations programs and influencer identification and outreach
  • Utilize media relations skills to engage and build relationships (online and offline) with journalists and influencers in support of garnering media coverage 
  • Support development and implement thought leadership plans, including securing speaking engagements, award opportunities and placing bylined articles
  • Manage accounts, client relationships and communications; ensuring deadlines, budgets and service agreements are met consistently
  • Manage and mentor internal team members, providing coaching and guidance on client programs and best practices
  • Participate in internal and client meetings with confidence, presenting client recommendations
  • Recognize and seek out  opportunities within existing client work to cross-sell and/or recommend additional programming to support clients objectives
  • Ensure client service, quality control and program deadlines are met while handling multiple projects
  • Possess strong copy-editing and proofreading skills
  • Support account teams in managing work streams on program implementation aimed at reaching diverse stakeholders such as patients, medical professionals, advocacy organizations, policy influencers, media, and client employees
  • Develop and monitor programs to ensure on time high quality client deliverables, including plans, research and analysis, media materials, website and social media content, client correspondence, and collateral
  • Participate in the business development process by supporting with pitch preparation, presentation and research as required
  • Attend industry events, meetings, conferences and training as appropriate
  • Light travel may be required

These are the qualifications we're looking for 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in public relations, business communications, marketing, journalism or English
  • 4+ years of professional experience at a leading PR agency or FORTUNE 500 company within its communications department
  • Media relations savviness and confidence with an eye for “news” and knowledge of media: print, online and broadcast pitching/communications
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written
  • Affinity for healthcare or life science communications/pr
  • Strong judgment and capable of autonomously troubleshooting challenges by demonstrating strategic problem solving
  • Experience driving projects from beginning to end and liaising with multiple team members; ability to collect and implement feedback 
  • Creative and strategic thinking with ability for articulating and defending ideas
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to help shape a dynamic and growing function
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly to understand client business issues and relevance to programmatic work
  • Working knowledge of media monitoring databases, reporting and analytics tools
  • Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve tight deadlines
  • Ability to familiarize with current affairs and relate to client situations
  • Team-oriented, collaborative attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed 
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry is a plus but not required
