Gartner analysts ensure that our executive clients receive the best strategic business advice, support, and direction for their decision-making. To optimize client impact, analysts are responsible for developing must-have content, performing stellar client Interactions, and driving performance to help scale and innovate our research. In addition, analysts are responsible for innovative research, timely delivery cadence and collaboration within and across teams.

A Senior Principal is a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner's value every day by engaging clients via virtual meetings, sales support interactions and events to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations. A Senior Principal also dives deep into re

search and analysis of complex datasets to identify problems and develop strategies that help clients solve problems and improve their company's performance.

As part of Gartner's Sales and Customer Service practice, you'll help sales leaders responsible for an end-to-end revenue process to develop strategies and implement plans for using technology to generate pipeline, close deals and expand customers. You'll research and analyze market trends and shifts, and provide clients, including vendors, with actionable insights based on market research and positioning. You'll also provide strategic advice, vendor selection guidance and collaboration recommendations for partnering with adjacent teams in marketing, IT, customer success and product.

What you'll do:
• Create insightful and actionable research in multiple formats (i.e., writing, video, infographics, podcasts) on emerging trends in revenue technology, best practices and techniques to effectively roadmap, implement and optimize a cohesive, effective revenue technology stack.
• Deliver actionable advice and represent thought leadership to sales leaders through video-based presentations and discussions with clients.
• Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within revenue technology as well as applicable adjacent areas.
• Lead webinars and present at Gartner live and virtual events on sales topics.

What you'll need:

The candidate must have 3-5+ years' experience in a sales operations and/or sales strategy role at an enterprise B2B brand or experience in a product role at a sales technology or data vendor.

This role requires subject matter expertise in at least three of the following areas:
• Operating in two or more of the following areas central to end-to-end revenue strategy (pipeline generation, sales execution and account retention and growth).
• Using data to improve the targeting, relevance and effectiveness of sales messages and to drive desired sales outcomes.
• Providing practical and thought-leading research on the technology that powers a modern go-to-market operation across complex customer journeys characterized by hybrid digital and human experiences.
• Data-driven sales techniques and technologies, including the ability to convey the impact of emerging functionality such as hyperautomation, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
• Building a business case for sales technology investment, calculating the ROI of tech stack initiatives and improving the value delivered by sales/revenue technology.
• New staff capabilities, roles and/or skill sets organizations need to fully leverage revenue technology.

Additional proven skills required include:
• Strong business and financial acumen as well as analytical skills.
• Stellar writing and verbal communication skills, notably the ability to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply and engage clients and respond adeptly to questions.
• Demonstrated capacity to piece together fragments of information, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns and drawing and framing conclusions in real time, with clients and during meetings.
• Impeccable time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Graduate degree preferred.
• Ability to conduct occasional travel, regionally and globally.

• Analytical thinker with the ability to process information quickly and make actionable recommendations.
• Background in sales operations, sales consulting, technology trade publications or project management with sales technology experience.
