About the job
Red Hat's Ecosystem Partner Management team is looking for a Senior Partner Manager to join us in servicing the technical partnering needs in the edge computing space. In this role, you'll work with strategic partners, including silicon providers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), cloud providers, and independent hardware vendors (IHVs). You'll be responsible for Red Hat's technical, day-to-day engagement with these partners. You'll work with partners' engineering product teams before product delivery to ensure that Red Hat's offerings contain all the features needed to allow edge systems and devices to be certified on Red Hat's platforms and function optimally at partner product launch. As a Senior Partner Manager, you will manager the relationship between Red Hat's engineering, product management, and partner teams for all the feature requests of your assigned partners, ensuring that valid requests make it into the desired release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and tracking all your features through the planning, development, testing, and launch phases. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Own the technical relationship with the assigned hardware partner engaged with Red Hat's business
  • Understand and maintain working knowledge of your partner's hardware offerings and roadmap
  • Solicit, prioritize, and manage partner technical requirements in order to enable partner offerings on Red Hat's offerings; ensure through enablement that Red Hat's offerings contain the features that partners require to be competitive in the market and ensure that partner offerings, whether hardware or software, can be certified and perform optimally on Red Hat's platforms
  • Collaborate with the Red Hat Product Management teams, product business owners, and engineering teams as necessary to ensure inclusion and proper prioritization of partner requirements in the release scoping process
  • Organize and guide all ongoing technical exchanges to align Red Hat and partner roadmaps between Red Hat and our partners, including partner interlocks, technical deep dives, and hosting partner technical reviews with Red Hat's engineering and product management teams
  • Work with the Global Alliance team to ensure that Red Hat's technical deliverables support the alignment of Red Hat's and partner business objectives, including extracting partner business requirements and turning these requirements into Red Hat market problems
  • Work on partner technical escalations with the Red Hat engineering and support teams at a deep technical level
  • Ensure that partner pre-GA bugs are being triaged appropriately by using all the same processes and milestones used in the Red Hat product schedule

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or other related fields; MBA is a plus
  • Experience with Linux
  • Familiarity with the open source development model
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to write executive summaries of partner technical issues
  • Ability to lead, hold authority, persuade, and negotiate
  • Experience working within strategic partners
  • Motivated with the ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated leadership experience working with and guiding cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Experience working with an edge-centric company is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the edge sector, especially experience working with a Tier 1 OEM, is a plus
