Your role in helping us shape the future:
Manages the Customer Sales Engineering (CSE) function of the company on a regional basis, providing communications engineering expertise to pre- and post-sales consultations with customers, sales associates and operations staff. Leads the CSE team in discovering customer needs, designing technical and operational solutions for those needs and managing the technical relationship with customers for the entire life cycle of service. Provides leadership and direction to a regional team of sales engineers, ensuring development of a customer-focused culture. Serves as the local technical expert in customer interactions as necessary.
Are you up to the challenge?

  • Manage the assigned regional Customer Sales Engineering (CSE) function, ensuring adequate staffing to support regional needs, proper training of staff on operational processes, policies, standards, technologies and tools, and appropriate allocation of technical staff to support customers. Ensure that the regional CSE team has the tools & resources needed to perform all job requirements.
  • Manage the regional CSE budget including: travel; training; team building; staffing & recognition awards. Provide expert-level guidance, coaching and mentoring to regional CSE staff.
  • Serve as the most senior CSE technical presence in a region, coordinating technical support efforts to key customers. Personally manage the company's largest and/or most complex customer accounts as the life cycle technical contact including ground and space components for both standard and non-standard offerings.
  • Assist the senior sales management as necessary in setting priorities and developing strategic account plans for customer support in the region. Prepare and present technical proposals both independently and in collaboration with sales directors. Support the timely movement of sales opportunities through the sales process.
  • Prepare link budget analysis as necessary to demonstrate satisfaction of customer requirements.
  • Ensure that unique regional HR needs are addressed in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Support grooming and transition projects, identifying and negotiating solutions to meet the customer's needs. Support new satellite design and deployment planning, including negotiation with customers on technical specifications. Support service restoration activities during major anomalies, coordinating between customers and restoration team to identify, communicate, and implement restoration options.


Can you drive these processes?

  • Develop and organise the technical track of Intelsat regional seminars. Support sales team during trade shows and customer events.


You should definitely have:

  • A 4-year degree Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering (Advanced degree preferred)
  • At least 12-years of relevant technical and management experience that includes:
    • experience in capacity management and/or systems engineering and/or other pre- or post-sales engineering functions.
    • recent experience managing professional level employees, preferably engineers
  • Strong leadership skills with the desire to develop team members.
  • Effective English language communication skills, both verbal and written; including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers as well as management.
  • A basic understanding of satellite operations, satellite design & manufacturing, communications operations and the sales process through which satellite services and related assets are sold.
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to create collaborative "win-win" solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people of various cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software suite (MS Excel, Access, Word and Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of link budget analyses.
  • Willingness and ability to travel the continent up to 30% of the time to meet business needs.
