Core Responsibility
With over 305 million active customer accounts globally, PayPal is the world's standard for online payments. The Partner Success team is responsible all-things operational to ensure each partner is set up for long-term success. Additionally, identifying opportunities to increase PayPal's products and services and adoption within North American and global digital economy.

At this time, the team is seeking a Senior Manager of Partner Success, Strategic Accounts to drive the management and business growth of new & existing strategic partners. PayPal is focussed on developing & growing its position in with the ecommerce's most strategic partners and is investing heavily to develop capabilities to position PayPal as the premier platform. Leveraging the unique assets of PayPal Inc, including our branded wallets (PayPal, Venmo, PayPal Credit), and unbranded and/or direct credit card solutions.

This exciting role presents an opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, focused on driving operational and commercial outcomes within PayPal. You will have the support you need to be successful, with functional resources in Sales, Professional Services, Technical Account Management and Product and Engineering that will drive solutions for your Partners.

The role is diverse with duties ranging from creating business efficiencies both internally and externally. Supporting partner development strategies, business line expansion plans, business cases for large and complex deals commercial opportunities, to managing the go-to-market activities of recently acquired partners.
The successful candidate will be looking to be challenged mentally with creating operational excellence to grow large strategic deals. The candidate will be rewarded in working in a world-class fin-tech environment, with access to global resources, market leading technology and solutions

The role will have the following responsibility:

  • Support and execute the distribution of PayPal services through large, global Partners, who provide access to large networks of merchants.
  • Develop and manage business development initiatives within Partners business to secure greater transaction volume, expansion of new product lines and overall growth from the Partner relationship
  • Support project management of strategic expansion initiatives from signed to launch and beyond to ensure the realisation of the business case forecasts - this is likely to include partner marketing programs and adoption plans.
  • Build relationships Partners' senior management to drive trust, confidence, loyalty, awareness and mutual benefit.
  • Be seen as a payments and technology subject matter expert that the partners rely on for product, payment and industry trends and online best practice.
  • Understands Partners' business: how they monetize, their growth strategy, their strategic initiatives and optimally position PayPal as the partner of choice that can support their business objectives.
  • Drive usage and habituation of PayPal, Venmo, and all other direct credit card solutions as preferred payment options with the Partners.
  • Understand Partners' product pain points and wish list; understands priorities and urgency; communicates this knowledge to PayPal Product to define ongoing development of PayPal Platform.
  • Provide product guidance and recommendations to new Partners to assist with their product strategy and position PayPal technology and solutions as path to growth to deepen our relationship and position with Partner.
  • Facilitates meetings with PayPal functional groups (Product, Engineering, Risk, Ops, Compliance, etc) to execute and deliver to business plan.
  • Facilitates meetings with PayPal senior management and functional groups when appropriate.
  • Works with Marketing on partner activation and engagement programs and development of collateral to drive business outcomes.
  • Support project management of strategic expansion initiatives to launch and beyond to ensure the realization of the business cases forecasts - this is likely to include partner marketing programs and adoption plans.
  • Understands Partners' business: how they monetize, their growth strategy, their strategic initiatives and optimally position PayPal as the partner of choice that can support their business objectives.
  • Ensure reports and KPIs are accurately tracked and delivered consistently and on-time to the Partner.
  • Coordinate with Partner to successfully onboard new merchants.
  • Manage day-to-day operational queries from the Partner, including account administration and configuration changes.

Assist in resolution of complex issues, while keeping internal and external stakeholders educated on any business impacting projects/issues

Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to take charge and work effectively to deliver results, despite internal or external obstacles to:

  • Drive partner growth, focusing on driving large, strategic, complex business relationships that secure the long-term growth and business objectives of PayPal Inc.
  • Ensure clear go-to-market plans are agreed with new partners.
  • Coordinate with Management to develop strategy and execute acquisition plans.
  • Complete regular call reports to update management and internal counterparts on account activity.
  • Find operational and process improvements to create value on behalf of PayPal and to ensure long-term partner success.



Personal Qualities, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, MIS or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in Account Management, Business Development and/or operations ideally in the management of strategic, global accounts working in dynamic, fast paced & results orientated organisations.
  • Knowledge of online payment processing, credit card merchant accounts, and the needs of off and online commerce platforms.
  • Ideal candidate will have an understanding of how payments strategically impact commerce platform's business model.
  • Exceptional consultative and operational skills with a passion & hunger for PayPal and to succeed.
  • Results oriented, self motivated & a "hands on" person with proven ability to meet objectives & targets.
  • Think creatively, strategically and communicate effectively.
  • Proven success record in business development and operational management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, negotiation and presentation skills required.
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment and is open to change.
  • Self-managing - although the role will see the person interacting with many levels and across several disciplines, it is important that this person be able to manage themselves and be proactive.
  • Strong PC skills - especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Colorado Only: The pay range for this position in Colorado starts as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus or commission if a Sales role. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary. All PayPal employees are shareholders in our Company, so equity is part of our total compensation plan. This role is also eligible for health insurance, stock purchase plans, retirement savings benefits, stock awards, life insurance and disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, parental leave, vacation, and PTO.
