The Senior Director, Sales will be responsible for managing and growing revenue for the Qualcomm Cell Site Model and Compute portfolios across the large strategic server companies with particular focus on Telco vertical. On the back of the Qualcomm 5G DU X100 announcement and vRAN, Qualcomm is seeking to transform infrastructure ecosystem.This person will work closely with colleagues around the world and be responsible for creating the NA strategy and execution across the ecosystem incl. OEMs, infrastructure vendors and carriers.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will build and manage relationships at all levels around the world in the ecosystem. He or she will interface with product planning, engineering development, procurement and supply chain teams to sell Qualcomm products. The Director, Sales will work closely with the technical and product teams in Qualcomm headquarters as well as coordinate global activities. Key responsibilities include introducing and selling Qualcomm's portfolio of products to server OEMs, infrastructure vendors and carriers to secure design wins.

  • Develop QC cloud and edge cloud business across CMS, AI and Compute
  • Sells solutions to big server companies including HPE and Dell and hyper scalers / ISVs
  • Drives business strategy for NA holistically in close collaboration with account sales and Bus
  • Defines account priorities and go-to-market strategies and drives the engagement. Owns the pitch
  • Actively drives QC product roadmap and total solution offer with BUs to match market opportunity



Skills/Experience

The Senior Director, Sales will have had extensive experience in developing relationships at large, complex organizations globally. With experience in selling infrastructure and compute products to cloud hyper scalars and server companies as well as shaping the requirement with end customer in addition to the understanding of the complexity of the infrastructure, data center and cloud compute industry are required. Additional Key components of the role:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology or related business field
  • 12+ years in sales, business development, product management or related work experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business or technology preferred
  • 20+ years in product marketing, sales, or product management in the PC industry
  • Experience at semiconductor company selling to hyper scalers and big server companies and/or experience at server companies taking products to market with semiconductor partners (AMD/INTEL/NVIDIA)
  • Demonstrated strong domain product and technology knowledge. Ideally Product Management / Engineering background in addition to strong business development skills
  • Holistic understand of the industry and value chain from hyper scaler / end customer (Verizon, Facebook) down to silicon
  • Demonstrated ability to shape customer requirements and positioning solution to capture the opportunity
  • Telco vertical experience is a strong asset
  • 15+ years of sales, product management or business development of complex technology products in infrastructure and cloud compute businesses with knowledge of global dynamics of ODMs, OEMs and certification
  • Strategic account management expertise, the ability to manage change and the desire to operate effectively across organizations and customers
  • Experience in design win and region sell-through partnerships with server OEMs and/or hyper scalers. Demonstrated experience in shaping the requirement with end customer
  • Deep knowledge and experience in building complex financial models that create win-win situations for Qualcomm and our customers
  • Expert technical understanding and hands-on experience in infrastructure, data center and cloud computing industry including being first line of defense for technical and product issues
  • Proficient and detailed understanding of supply chain, product development and marketing
  • Experience in negotiating and managing MDF, NRE and component pricing with large customers
