The Colleague Experience and Technology (CET) team are a critical part of VMware's digital transformation. As a key leader in the Colleague Experience and Technology (CET) Leadership team you will lead a transformation to drive focus, clear accountability and outcomes across the following functional areas:

Colleague Success, responsible for supporting all employees through upcoming technology and process changes aligned with the CDTO (Digital Transformation Office) and CIO (Information Office), CET Service Delivery responsible for ensuring operation readiness across the global technology support teams and CET Global Business Services responsible which plays a critical role in CET's operations (Programs, Projects and operations) and strategic partner with the Workplace Services organization to ensure Technology is enabling our global offices.

What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join the Colleague Experience and Technology leadership team. The Senior Director will oversee the newly formed Colleague Success and Enablement organization. We seek a senior leader who will transform how we support and enable our colleagues in support of VMware's digital transformation. You will help shape change design and strategy that will successfully support people through our digital transformation change. You will play a critical role in ensuring the Colleague Experience and Technology team's operations can scale with efficiency to meet growing demands across the company. You will also represent the overall technology organization as the strategic partner for VMware's global workplace services team.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Develop a vision and strategy to support and accelerate VMware's Sub/SaaS transformation as the senior leader, accountable for supporting our colleagues through this change and ensuring change management is consider in all aspects of our transformation.

Ensure technology accelerates Workplace (Real-Estate and Workplace) strategic programs.

Drive an organizational culture that is progressive and inclusive but also obsessed with outcomes and key results.

Ensure your functional teams are embedded in product releases and programs. Laser focused on driving common outcomes to support strategic priorities.

Ensure the organization can scale with the company growth through efficiency.

Re-invent how the team operates, innovates, and executes.

Build an agile and trusting partnership with key communities across VMware

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Influence senior leaders to drive and support successful change specifically related to the CDTO / CIO Strategic portfolio.
  • Create a team culture open to change and is adaptable - focusing on outcomes, creativity and innovation.
  • Oversee, develop, and execute our Colleague Success plans such as change management strategies that maximize employee adoption, usage and value
  • Manage a global team of colleague success FTEs and contractors to deliver against priorities
  • Provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions
  • Coach and support Senior Leaders and Executives on their role as a change sponsor
  • Craft and implement frameworks (process, tools and techniques) to "engineer" the people-side of change processes
  • Lead the development of a communications framework, strategy, and operating rhythm for communicating with all internal stakeholders including, but not limited to, executive staff, senior management, project teams, business unit partners and employees
  • Perform and evaluate change readiness assessments
  • Identity and evaluate potential change resistance and develop/execute mitigation tactics
  • Define adoption success metrics for the change before the program starts and measure against post the program ends
  • Develop partner engagement and management plans, including handling a feedback loop to identify gaps and introduce plans to address and mitigate issues
  • The role will be responsible for setting strategic direction, vision and roadmap and be accountable for the execution and implementation of change management.
  • Anticipate and identify the multitude of personas and needs of VMware's distributed workforce.
  • Ensure technology and workplace are strategically aligned to ensure employee experience is a priority
  • Partner with stakeholders across the company to define and deliver the appropriate technology capabilities.
  • Ensure CET programs are governed, executed and within budget and resource availability
  • Create the measures and metrics required for managing and tracking the strategic initiatives to reflect short term success and requirements for long term growth.
  • Lead the monthly business reporting, leveraging multiples inputs including: colleague insights, stakeholder feedback, business outcomes and ensure the insights are shared with leaders.
  • Accountable for budgeting, financial management and optimization of spend on services within the portfolio.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to an exceptional engineering and support team that would report into this role.
