Senior Channel Sales Engineer

Egnyte continues to expand its intelligent content management platform that goes beyond just enabling best-in-class collaboration to providing data governance via automated file inspection/classification, permission management, compromised account and insider threat detection and data lifecycle management.
Egnyte is seeking a dedicated Channel Sales Engineer (SE) to partner with the Partner Account Management team (MSP and VAR) and Channel Enablement in a pre-sales role across all of Egnyte’s industry-leading solutions to drive adoption.

The Sales Engineer is a creative thinker that acts as the "Liaison” between Sales, Product, Marketing and the customer by identifying and removing any potential roadblocks early in the sales process while creating detailed specifications agreed upon by both Egnyte and the client. You’ll manage prospect demonstrations and POC/POVs, including hands-on installation and configuration of Egnyte and third-party products. You’ll develop deep knowledge of the Egnyte platform, competition, integrations and our customer industries.

Your Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • 5+ years experience as a pre-sales engineer with heavy emphasis on the channel.
  • Understand our customers’ businesses and challenge their ideas of the status quo while articulating the value of Egnyte’s solutions and answering “Why Egnyte?”.
  • Conduct in-person and remote technical enablement and/or product demonstrations, and working closely with Partner Account Managers (PAMs) to present the technical value proposition to our partner ecosystem and drive adoption.
  • Align with your PAM to help support strategic partners to help them provide high quality Egnyte demos, run successful proof-of-concept evaluations and help them answer questions from their customer base, in relation to our solutions.
  • Proactively manage and deliver technical information to partners and customers both online and on-site.
  • Help forge a “partner-first” mindset and habits in the rest of the SE team.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of all Egnyte products/services, competitive product lines and platform integrations through self-education and Egnyte’s enablement resources.
  • Travel to partner/customer sites, Egnyte internal meetings and trade show/conferences, as needed.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as a pre-sales engineer with heavy emphasis on the channel.
  • A technical background, preferably in content collaboration and/or information security and data governance.
  • Strong curiosity about technology, and passion to both learn and share with peers and customers.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, close-knit team environment.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to sell effectively in front of a mixed technical and non-technical audience.
  • Experience using video collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • An understanding of the sales process and the roles and responsibilities involved, especially in a Channel-driven sales model.
  • A high degree of personal responsibility and accountability as you may be working remotely.
  • Broad knowledge of SaaS, IaaS, security and associated collaboration and governance technologies.
