Account Managers are responsible for driving portfolio strategy, revenue management, revenue optimization, and execution. This role will enables the team to win freight by driving decisions internally while managing and adjusting the cost and revenue of each Shipper’s portfolio. An Account Manager finds common themes and synergies across networks that can unlock new potential and secures internal support and alignment to make new programs a reality for our customers. 


Account Managers own the day to day/service relationship with the Shipper, executing against the jointly created strategic account plans and optimizing the portfolio performance, making volume / margin trade-offs, and conducting network analyses in order to identify growth opportunities for Sellers to action. A key responsibility is engaging in customer interactions alongside the Seller (e.g., QBRs and RFPs) where the Seller will drive the relationship with the Customer’s leadership team and the Account Manager will create the content, do the deep dive and work across internal teams and drive the day to day relationship with the Customer. 


The Account Manager optimizes their Seller counterpart’s selling time and the speed of deal development by partnering on and optimizing the Seller’s P&L. Account Managers act as a general manager of the business the Sellers are leading, navigating Convoy, managing internal decision making, removing blockers, and helping Sellers be creative and effective about the solutions they recommend to Shippers. Account Managers also maintain a close relationships with customers to ensure a strong service oriented partnership. 


Senior Account Manager

You will:

  • Achieve customer growth and retention targets, including identifying expansion opportunities
  • Drive volume and contribution profit growth for Convoy’s enterprise customers
  • Develop and execute against strategic account plans for enterprise customers
  • Analyze customer data and share insights both internally and externally
  • Develop and distribute strategic customer reporting
  • Lead account-based programs / project management initiatives
  • Drive data insights, breaking down high level business problems into concrete systematic solutions
  • Run business reviews with customers (Monthly and Quarterly business reviews)
  • Execute on shared account on-boarding process and framework with other key partners; including business development and operations
  • Ensure the highest-level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Operate across cross-functional teams to execute programs and deliver exceptional service.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 6+ years of account management experience
  • Consistent track record of retaining and growing enterprise customers
  • Exceptional Excel/Data management skills
  • Strong operations or detailed account management experience (comfortable diving into the details)
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Self directed and proactive approach to work - adept at working in highly dynamic environments
  • Creative thinker able to develop new internal processes and push our customers to think differently

Nice to haves:

  • Transportation or other logistics industry experience a plus
  • Technology industry and start­up experience a plus
  • SQL experience a plus

Pay & Benefits:

The salary for this role in the state of Washington is between $82,000 and $114,800. This range may vary depending on an applicant's location if outside Washington. Hired applicants are also eligible to receive equity grants in the form of either a direct grant of stock or an option to purchase stock in the future for a specified price.


For certain roles, employees may be eligible to earn incentives in the form of commissions, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
